This week I wore some casual outfits to run errands which all had line art animal prints. In the studio I was doing rough animal sketches so maybe there was a subconscious connection going on there.

1) My usernamesake, also I wanted a tattoo of a flying rabbit as a teen. (I adjusted the uneven pants roll after the shot, but it was too late for the closed eyes). Worn with mixed media black moto jacket.

2) This skirt had been orphaned for awhile since it's a a straight A-line with an undefined waist. I'm not sure if this turned out 'just enough structure' or 'not quite enough structure' with the oversized sweater. I tried sleeves pushed up too, but preferred the gathered over the hand look. This is also my first socks with heels attempt. Any other ideas for what to wear with this skirt?

3) I ran out of time so I'm not that excited by the bottom half (any thoughts?), but I like the top colors and really love the print on this shirt, heh.

You do tonal looks very well but I must say as a lover of color the bright scarf in 3 made me swoon.

I am completely in love with #1. I want that t shirt. Or some version thereof. Wow.

I also love #3, for the same reason you do. what an amazing print. I actually think the boots work well here. The softness works with the softness / grayed out print of the tee. Your hair bookends with the pants. It's all good.

#2 is unique, original, and very clever. (I am also smiling because your cat is matching your outfit.) I think it's "just enough structure" but I have a high tolerance for waist surrendering and similar looks.

abc - I love that scarf too. It's the color of an actual rose petal, with a tiny bit of coral in the pink. It does good things for my lips and cheek color too in person so I want to wear it more.

I am so in love with all those outfits. They look fantastic on you! I think we may have bought tee shirts from the same etsy seller. I have one with an octopus as well as a scarf with a giant octopus attacking a 3 masted schooner. I really love the graphic printed animal tee shirts (and scarves, etc.) overall because they're so easy to style with so many things (as you've demonstrated beautifully here!)

These are all fun and creative and wonderful. I kind of want to see, just for fun, one of the t-shirts with the octopus skirt (although it'll be costume-y and ridiculous)!

I think #1 is my favorite, too, but it's such a close call!

What great looks for an artist! There are creative and interesting, but they're perfectly wearable and flattering, too.

All of them are great, but I particularly fond of the silhouette in the skirt outfit and the sweetness of the rabbit. Love that splash of pink in the final combo.

Just perfect. re: skirt in #2, i love the way you've styled it, quirky elegance at it's finest. You can also try a slouchy tee, a semi-fitted button down tied at the hi hip, or a more fitted top with some type of utilitarian jacket over top which hits at anywhere from low natural waist to the top of the leg. I like the way you've styled this a-line, i find that keeping the silhouette loose avoids the kind of prissy look that can occur sometimes with this form of skirt, your take on it here highlights the active, utilitarian, ready for whatever may arise side of the a-line.

Really sweet to have another waist-surrenderer on the site, too. I have to say the thing i love most about YLF is the sheer variety of fabness on display. Yay! Have a great Saturday everybody!! and keep an eye out for flying hares steph

I love the black/white/grey/pink palette. And the combat boots! And your scarves! Great line art, esp the last. A punkier hipster. Totally my sort of thing.

Wow, rabbit, all three of these looks are simply sublime. I LOVE the tonal colors. Really fabulous.

I wish I had some suggestions about what else you could wear with that octopus skirt. It's a toughie! The sweater you have works quite well because of its cutout in the front. Maybe it would be helpful to do a separate post about the skirt but wear it with just a simple T-shirt, tucked and untucked, so that we can get a better idea of its silhouette around the waist?

racheylou - if I ever heavily restricted my color palette it would probably be to black/gray/pink with some white and denim. Yep, punky/hipster is my most comfortable style groove (and pretty forgiving), although I'm trying to branch out a little and test other channels.

Mrs. E - lol :D. Thank you very much for the alternate styling ideas, those sound good and I have those items. Good point about the A-line and the waist-surrending.
