WIW: New statement sweater and a bonus look

In search of a new long cardigan and low and behold I went statement instead.
I was getting some new make-up and the sweater in picture one called my name and it was immediate sweater lust.

Picture 1 - What i wore today - my new wrap/cape sweater (okay I may have ran down the hallways pretending to be superwoman) Wore one of my brooches to hold it closed all day, brown shirt underneath, black pants and maroon heels. Felt fab all day - could have been the make-up refresh or the wonderful cape.

Picture 2 - Saturday errand running outfit. Had fun with all the colors - you might not be able to see but the gray sweater underneath has gray stripes. I go back and forth between wearing the vest all the way zipped or partially unzipped. Another thanks to you YLF for helping me figure out how to dress on the weekends in more than yoga pants and T's

I've been thinking about getting a cape but wondered if it would be a hassle all day, getting in the way. But you seem to have solved that with the brooch. Good idea!

The cape did not bother me at all during the day and was really comfortable. The brooch helped keep it in place and not flapping around. I do not like fussy clothing and would have been done if I had to spend all day adjusting.

I like to see you in slightly dramatic clothes like this cape or your leather skirt.
And your weekend outfit is fun , perfect for keeping the spirits high and look put together.

Love the leopard statement piece, although leopard can be a neutral. The second outfit looks great too, a wonderful weekend look.

Yes I went back for the shoes tried them on and they fit great and then I remember I hate flats. Which was confirmed yesterday when I started the day in flats made it into the building so all of one block of walking realized my feet don't like flats put on my emergency 2 inch black heels I keep at work and was a happy happy camper.

with all the talk about style words I am beginning to think one of my words is dramatic because I do love a great dramatic piece. I need to explore this more and what it means style wise.

Yes, YLF has helped me get out of my sweats and tees on the weekends too! You look fab in both outfits, and I love the cape, especially if you went running down the halls pretending to be superwoman - I'll bet the students loved it!
