WIW: New specs and fall colors

Hi fabbers! I didn't post much this summer because I was too hot to be inspired, but I have been reading regularly. I pretty much rotated through the same ten dresses or so on autopilot for the last three months. My wardrobe served me well - I was just bored by the end of it.

I did get new specs (Pics 1-2) this summer, after my five year old green frames finally broke. I went a bit bigger than I ever have before, so I hope they look ok!

And here are two recent outfits. The first (Pic 3) I wore to work, a work happy hour, and then to the theatre for a date night with DH. I was trying to strike a balance since I didn't have time to go home and change. This is the same olive green dress as the glasses pics - sorry for the bad lighting!

The next (Pic 4) I was a casual weekend look for lunch and running errands. I picked up this handmade necklace at an arts fair a couple of weeks ago. It's made of a thin, leather-like material that drapes really well. I really prefer my dark neutrals fall color palette to my summer one.

Both outfits look good. Love the necklace. I felt the same way so I made it my year round dark neutral palette.

You look great! I love the frames. Love that they have visual movement instead of a flat dark tone. I can relate to that adjustment period. I felt a bit unsure when I got a larger pair of frames but I believe it looks more current.

What a great necklace! Love that you echoed the color in your shoes!

Lady, you and I say "current" on the glasses, my husband says "hipster!" You're so right about the adjustment period though - aesthetically and visually, since the field of view is so much bigger.

As far as the hair, as the humidity goes down, my hair doesn't weigh itself down as much, so I can style it more than just the pixie. I'm having fun with it - at least until it's cold enough to wear hats.

Love the new specs. Ever since I got my first pair 2 years ago, I've been wanting to get more specs as accessories because they are so much fun (although I think it could get quite expensive).
