Yesterday I went by our Salvation Army shop again - I've come to expect to find valuable stuff there now, and yesterday was no exception. I found a sheath in purple from Coast, it looks brand new and was priced down to about 10% of retail value. Yay! These dresses are very expensive downtown. I've been wanting a purple dress, and I think this one can be a seasonless addition to my wardrobe.
#1: The sheath. It actually fits really well. I know it looks too tight across my hips in the photo, but it really isn't. I think the shoulder details balances out my hips nicely. What do you think? Is this a keeper?
#2 and #3: I had to road test it today, so I put on patent red flats, tried to casualize it with my denim jacket, and to cheer things up I added a yellow, red and blue silk scarf (also thrifted yesterday) to my bag as in #3. I actually loved the blazer with the dress, but it was too formal for my activities today. When I left the house, I swapped the black bag with my brown messenger for less contrast with the scarf. I felt fab! I loved wearing the pretty dress with denim and flats, and except from it being a bit too hot today for this, I consider it a success.
A couple of ideas for more formal events. Maybe for my cousin's wedding in July?
#4: This entire outfit, except the clutch, was thrifted in the same store within a few weeks. White blazer and gold sandals.
#5: With my silk scarf and clutch from BR last summer. Thrifted pewter sandals, also new to me.
Do you like my new dress on me? Again, it looks too tight in the photo, but it doesn't when I move.
Thanks for looking! Any and all comments are appreciated.
