WIW new lilac tunic

Dear Fabbers,
Here I am yet again. If it is too much, just please ignore me
Wanted to show you my new lilac tunic. My sister made it for me and I love it. It is VERY oversized and really comfy in warm weather (which we have today). I combine it with white trousers, purple oxfords, green/lilac scarf, which you have already seen a few times, a green bag and green sunglasses.
What do you guys think? Any ideas how to style this kind of a blouse?

First of all- nice sister!!!!
Second- great color on you
Third you have it styled just fine with the scarf (you know I would say that ;-).
alternately you could use your wonderful brooches or lots of necklaces a la Coco or
even with a skirt for your bottoms or as a topper over a dress or
I bet when traveling it could do double duty as a cover up to go to hotel pool area.

Cardiff girl, thank you. The shoes are one of my favourites. They are really old, I bought them for about 9 years ago - they were odd then, it was before this kind of oxfords became popular. I wore them quite a lot and, unfortunately, they are getting worn out. They are purple metallic. I think they might be hard to replace in this colour.

My sister is very creative and also handy. She makes fun pieces. I have some fab scarves she made and also some absolutely fabulous patterned summer trousers. She is the sweetest and kindest person, too.

Great colors, once again!

Working with the same silhouette, I could also see this gorgeous top paired with slim pants in gray, navy, or chocolate brown. Or with dark jeans. An orchid or berry scarf would probably look amazing.

I love that kind of top but it looks just awful on me. You seem to pull it off without looking messy— probably because of good posture and well groomed hair. How nice to hear about a fun sister relationship.

Beautiful blouse and you pull it off greatly! I’m no color expert by far, but I feel a lighter color scarf and shoes, maybe sandals if you wear those, would also work here. Not necessarily pastel, but a medium shade of something?

First off, you can never post too much. I adore seeing your WIWs. I don't always have time to comment, but I really enjoy seeing your style because I learn so much from you. You have me thinking about brooches and scarfs. You have taught me to dress with flair and confidence. You are such a welcome addition to the Forum, Katerina.

The lavender tunic is beyond gorgeous. I personally like volume over skinny. So if I am going to wear a voluminous top, I look for slender or skinny pants. I wonder if the scarf clashes with the top? The weights of the scarf and top "feel" different to me. Perhaps a lighter weight scarf? Perhaps a lighter color scarf?

I would style it like a poncho, because that what it looks like. The lilac and green is gorgeous together. Do you have green pants?

Like the Season, thank you for the nice comments and for the suggestions. I will try with navy pants. Most of my pants are not slim though, but I will try with the navy and the black pairs I have. A berry scarf sounds great!

Sterling, thank you! You are right, the scarf is heavier than the blouse, it is a silk twill. It might be better with a lighter one. Maybe a chiffon or thin cotton. I will try with other scarves, too.

JAileen, thank you. Yes, it is a shape of a poncho! I have a pair of green silk trousers, but they are rather wide straight legged. I will try and see if it will work.

Can you wear this pretty top with a coat or jacket? If that is difficult, you may want to consecrate on warm/ mild weather looks. White jeans, olive or springy green pants, pink, maybe faded denim jeans.

Thank you very much, Joy, for looking and for the suggestions. The top is impossible under a jacket - far too much fabric. Only warm weather looks are possible. The colours you are suggesting sound great. White jeans will work. I don’t have any faded slim, but will try with the BF pair I have. One never knows, maybe it might work.

I like everything but the shoes in this outfit, they seem too formal and constricted looking for the flowing nature of the outfit, and a lot going on in addition to the volume and color play happening....Thus, I feel like even more casual oxfords, like chunky black classic Doc Martens, would balance with the volume and color on top, if you wanted to stick with the dark oxfords plan. On the other hand, white sneakers or just about any chunky sandals would also be great.

I love top completely, lovely color and great with white jeans. As I like pastels, maybe little lighter scarf would be better, but I like the outfit as it is.
