WIW: new knit wrap and old outfit

Haven’t posted in a while but felt inspired seeing everyone else’s autumn posts I finished a handknit wrap and decided to take photos so I can maybe publish the pattern. (My husband was a dear and did the photo snapping for me.) Rather nervous to publish and feeling scared to boot!

Outfit-wise I both love it and feel like a stranger. I normally in my head see myself wearing more bold looks. This is much softer. I love how I feel but not sure how it translates to real life. So give my your honest thoughts, feedback, and ideas. I think it almost feels like it’s not dramatic enough. Or maybe ditch the skinnies and move to bootcut jeans entirely?? I wore this outfit a ton last autumn (minus the wrap) and am wondering if it somehow needs more spark and fire, different lines... something. I’m starting to realize I need and desire to wear more color. Most of my closet is grey and black with one print dress, and one top each in reddish plum and camel. I’ve also been moving away from bohemian styles and moving more towards ladylike and romantic styles. At least, I’m trying it. Christina Hendricks’ style is totally floating my boat this year and I’m experimenting with similar looks as I obtain pieces. It’s very slow going as I haven’t bought new clothes, save a few thrifted pieces, since before my son was born. So essentially I’d had the same boho style for 6-7 years.

I have had this blouse for 4 years and still love it. It’s sheer chiffon with embroidery. Just a Kohl’s brand bought second hand. It’s kind of boho, mind of romantic.

Jeans, ON curvy cut skinnies that I have a love/hate relationship with.

I’ve been doing more romantic styles with my hair, almost Victorian or Edwardian in style and I’m loving it. Maybe I’m secretly trying to revive the Gibson Girl lol! But jokes aside, my hair is curly and it takes well to all the rolling, pinning, and such.

Makeup... I’m always about lots of makeup and piled on more for photos.

I wore deep wine colored velvet booties which are only seen in photo #2. They’re not comfortable for more than couple hours. But they are so pretty I don’t care.

I can't assess the fits of the items you're wearing properly from these pics, so you judge that. If you're feeling more colour - wear it! Or add it to your wardrobe if you need to.

Angie Ooooo!! That’s a new moniker for me! I do love the fairytale looks especially Once Upon A Time series and the Lord Of The Rings elven wardrobe. Though I admit, it’s not a look I’ve ever pursued with clothing. I’m also really into Poldark right now with al of the corseted bosoms, ruffles, and long tail frock coats. I added photos for my outfit. Wasn’t thinking how much the wrap obscured things!!! I guess the outfit is okay. I think what’s bothering me is it’s pretty much black and dark denim. So...no color!

Cardiff Girl Lol! Thank you for that awesom boost ❤️ Have to get the behind the scenes stuff done to write the pattern and then I will see what the publishing world is like. I think I’m digging the modern fairytale vibe. I’ve looked and all of my sweater knitting pattern choices for this year and next are extremely fairytale or Joan Holloway in vibe. So I think I’m picking up a new vibe!

You are beautiful, and purple is a very flattering color on you. Plus, it’s the color of royalty, so works well for a Modern Fairytale Princess. I love the velvet booties, too. If you are thinking about adding more color to your wardrobe, would you consider adding more purple and wine?

Katerina Thank you dearly! I stay home with my little one. I wear makeup most days. but somehow I felt extra pretty getting to dress up more than usual.

Windchime thank you! I am starting to dig the Modern Fairytale Princess I loooove purple, so I'm doing more of both purple, plum, and wine. I am knitting a sweater thats a very cool shade of green, and knitting yet another sweater, a fair isle design in shades of plum, raspberry, tan, and purple. And I have a crimson sweater slated for this winter. Reds and purples are my thing. can you tell? lol

Keturah, you are beautiful and your outfits look gorgeous the darker colors look good too, I think they compliment you very well
The ON skinnies look great, you could still show us how the bootcut look on you too for another outfit possibly with a belt or double belt outfit.

You look very pretty and it is easy to imagine that you are a modern princess. The purple is my favorite.

I like this outfit both ways--the ankle boots are a great kick of color with the jeans and grey, and it's great with the wrap too.

I recall you were feeling a bit lost in the babe, so I'm glad you've done the wrap for yourself, and think it'll be great for you to publish the pattern. Now that he's at school (?), I hope things are easier.
