WIW: new jeans on my long torso.

Hi guys,

Haven't been posting much (still can't upload photos from phone) but wanted to show some recent pictures of my 2021 jeans

Pics 1 and 2 are my wide legs ones. I bought them a couple of months ago but only just hemmed them. DD, who took the photo, says I look much better in real life so try to imagine that!

Did I get the length right for the new "shorter length" ? I can easily unpick and re-hem

Pic 3 are my ribcage jeans. I haven't hemmed these, just experimented with folding so any comments welcome.

And the long torso thing. I wanted to get ULTRA high rise because they are supposed to be good on long torsos. I still feel like the upper part of my body looks too long. I suppose a lower neck would help (But I love turtlenecks in the Australian winter) Outfit 1-2 actually had a scarf with it but it didn't make the photos.

Wow. The jeans in #3 are super flattering. An ultra high rise on me veers into bustier territory, but there you are looking perfectly proportioned with actual torso above the waist. YLF.

Since you wrote that you have a very long torso, I tried to assess it from the photos. (Who told you that you have such a long torso?). One thing I have to say is that when you dress in two contrasting colours (white top, dark jeans), you draw extra attention to the proportions of your vertical line (torso and legs). You underline where your torso ends, so to speak. How about wearing a more tonal look?
The jeans looks great! (And I think I might have a long torso too).

High waists are perfect on you! Milk the trend now before lower rises come back in style! Meanwhile, I can barely find any pants to work on me because the rises are so high.

Synne - you asked how I know I have a long torso? The answer is that I have a long waist - I know this both experientially because waistbands often hit at my ribcage, and also because I can fit about 2.5 hand widths between the bottom of my bust and my waist AND I have a long rise (the ribcage jeans are about 12 inches).

While I agree that a tonal look may work better, and I'll give it a go (I certainly feel better in dresses which are more consistant over the body) vertical lines are "supposed" to be flattering on long torsos because it breaks up the expanse.

Janet - I felt rather indulgent buying two pairs of jeans this year and I hope for my sake the high rises will stay in fashion long enough for me to get wear out of them. Hope you can find some moderate rise for yourself though

You look fantastic in high rise jeans. Like a model. All jeans look excellent on you. I wish I had a longer torso, it makes you look tall. So do not think for one second that your torso looks too long in those jeans.
