WIW New dress from COS/ ETA worn as a duster too

Today, it is a holiday here. I am wearing a new dress - COS. It is a shirt, A-line cotton dress with a gathered hem, very comfy.
It is, however, quite a style departure for me and wonder, what you, dear Fabbers, think. I would also appreciate styling tips and ideas.

I am wearing the blush COS dress with a long white linen scarf, red vintage bag with a small red scarf, patent leather Swedish clogs, red sunglasses (Tom Ford), red lipstick and blush costume jewelry earrings.
The second picture is the dress without the accessories.

What do you guys think? Any styling ideas?

ETA - today, after all the great suggestions from you, dear Fabbers, I am wearing the dress open as a duster - pic 4. I am wearing it with cropped silk trousers (Danish brand Day Birger et Mikkelsen), red silk top from Aquascutum, Elie Saab silk scarf, the same red sunnies, beige metallic sneakers from Nero Giardini and the same vintage red bag. I think I could wear it as a dress with this scarf, bag and sneakers too. The last picture is an attempt to style it with the red patent clogs and a tiny little red patent bag instead, but I somehow prefer this combo with the sneakers. What do guys you think? Grateful for honest feedback, ideas and whatever comes to mind.

Nice dress,I love the colour.Will be perfect for a hot summer.As usual you look fab but as you asked,I would be tempted to wear a lighter shoe with that dress,maybe a block heeled sandal or a very strappy flat sandal.I really love your red clogs but feel other shoes would work better here.I also love the white with the pink but would try a shorter scarf like a neckerchief.l think that the dress is such a statement in itself you don’t want your accessories competing with it.

Love the blush with red compliment! The scarf and the structured bag still make this very much your style, even if the dress is a departure.

I really like the blush with red! You could try it as a topper over pants or jeans either open all the way with a tee or tank under or unbuttoned to the waist.

Thank you very much, Jenn. The dress feels very comfortable, cool, soft - like wearing a pyjamas. But by habit, I try to incorporate some structure and stylewise not perfect. It is always a dilemma with hot summer outfits though. I need something to wear when it is hot. Not my favourite fashion season. Today, we had a hot summer day - about 26 degrees Celsius.

I agree about the shoes because I think the clogs would be too hot on a summer day.
Is part of your problem with summer that the weight of fabrics makes it so much harder to be structured. The lighter weight loses its stiffness so easily... Also, do you wear things looser in the summer?
I love this dress. The colour is fab on you and you have styled it beautifully.
Would just adding a long necklace and maybe a hat be enough for you?

You could add a brooch or two, and pile on the pearls instead of a scarf if you like.

This is a fabulous dress and looks sensational on you with the red. Love the scarf, too. I'll bet you have patterned scarves that will pick up the colours as well.

KATERINA- what a great dress for Spring/ Summer. Color looks great in you. Beautiful classic and classy line.
I too was “ surprised “ to see no brooch but then I realized you might not have any really light weight ones for dresses. Heavy ones can really do damage if not backed underneath. ( done that before)
I would think using a scarf as a belt ( or a belt as a belt- lol) would look great too.
No matter- you always look stunning.

I might pop the collar up and roll back the cuffs and pile on the pearls - but really it looks super as you have styled it and it is an excellent partner with red.

You look wonderful - I also love the colours here. I could see it with a small silk scarf as an alternative and white/cognac/blue shoes as well. Pink goes with a surprisingly large number of colours!!

Freckles, you are right - all these reasons make it difficult to wear structured outfits in hot weather. Thanks you for the suggestions. I am not really a hat person, but I will try some necklaces instead for the scarves too.

The dress is new, bought it a couple of days ago. Unfortunately cannot do finds yet (embarrassing), but it is in COS current collection, also in a great dark grey colour.

This looks like an especially great dress for a hot day! Roomy, covered, lightweight. Nice styling here with the red and white accents. Would also be fun to pair with turquoise, mint, or yellow (if you wear these colors?). I think a scarf tie that echoes the minimal volume would add a breezier vibe (so for a long tie, maybe loop once around the neck then let the ends dangle free).

It seems to fit you very well. Congratulations on your bravery- stepping out of your style comfort zone is not easy!

I think it looks great as an open outer layer. As a dress, perhaps you could try it without a scarf to leave the placket more visible. Keep it buttoned all the way up, and add a big bib necklace at the collar, like a breastplate almost. This will keep the structure you like.
