WIW: New Bootcuts

Trying to beat back the January blues with some blues of my own. Also trying to ratchet up my daily style by infusing some of the same energy I bring to my daily style when I know I will be seeing clients. In other words, trying to get out of my pajamas.

New to me JBrand Bootcuts (thrifted, $30)
JCrew tux shirt
JCrew houndstooth jacket
Silver Seychelles booties

Dark brown Frye harness boots
Charcoal Vince batwing cashmere sweater (thrifted)

Bonus pic of my new iPhone case, which I love especially because I am a business owner and a sole proprietor, so I am quite literally the boss (also everything else).

Love both these looks, particularly #2. That's a gorgeous knit. I wish I could wear those Frye harness boots, but I tried them on and they look silly on my skinny calves.

Yay for bootcuts! I love the houndstooth jacket too. Look 1 looks so classy. It definitely says "you're the boss"! I've been longing to wear something like this (I've just been hesitant to wear my bootcuts with so much snow and slush where I live.)

Look 2 is pretty too. It says: "You're the very cool boss."

KM - we are expecting a snowstorm tomorrow, so I brought the bootcuts out today!

viva, I took advantage of a rare "clean" day earlier this week to wear some wide-leg trousers... Next time I'll do the same for bootcuts!
(I am also thinking of trying to tuck them into my snow boots and change when I get to work--not sure if it'll work.)

2 great looks on you, and good for you for getting dressed up. Those Fryes look so good on you. Do you find them really heavy? I have not worn mine this year because I tried them right after my hip surgery in November and, literally, it hurt my leg to lift my foot wearing that boot! i'm all better now, and you have inspired me to get in them again.

Very nice! #1 is my fav, the tux shirt and blazer combo is right up my alley. Very cool iPhone case.

You look terrific -- I think #1 is notable, because it's a familiar formula, worn with perfect modern fit and proportions. The "update" means more ease, longer length to the jacket and a tucked top with a belt. For a decade, I swear I never wore a belt.

Both outfits are fantastic on you. I love the silver booties with #1 and those beautifully fitting jeans and blazer. The second is so cool and laid-back, with a luxurious feel.

Thanks all. Laurie, in honesty I do find the harness boots a bit heavy, and I have to remind myself to reach for them. I hope you can wear yours comfortably. I love that they have a rubberized sole, which makes them a pretty smart choice.
