Wow! This post blew up. Among additional reasons I don’t wear shorts is that the temps need to be in the 80s or higher, and it rarely gets that hot where I live and due to the pandemic we haven’t been traveling to warmer climes. It cools down at night so my very old stucco house stays quite cool all day. I run so cold I almost never go sleeveless and/or collarless and haven’t needed to wear sandals once this season. (I haven’t always been like this.) This means I have to keep myself from buying those hot weather temptations because I will only have a handful or two of opportunities to wear them every year unless we go at least 10 miles from home or through a tunnel.
@Sally: These shorts aren’t really a work look for me; I went into the office but only one other person was there since it was a holiday.
@cat2: These shorts also come in black, cadet blue, and green. They seem to run true to size.
@AJ: I think the pleats work because the fabric is fairly drapey and falls softly. I have a rounded tummy, and if the fabric were a no wrinkle cotton blend, I don’t think it would be as flattering.
The jacket is unlined 100% linen and something I never wear. I need to wear it with my tank tops and other sleeveless tops that I never wear because they aren’t warm enough for me. Pathetic, right?
@lisa p: I have ridiculously ripped calves from walking hills, lol. My upper body needs work, but my hands are claw like and can’t grip.
Below are the slides that work for my low volume feet. I didn’t even need to add tongue pads to tighten them up.
