WIW: navy, white, olive and cognac

It is still freezing cold here (1 C) but brave Torontonians are all bare ankles, florals and utility jackets, trying to channel spring after a loooong winter! I decided to join these hardy souls and break out my spring wear today. I feel crisp and clean in this outfit, which feels very fresh and new after my softer and cozier winter outfits.

Utility jacket + jeans: BR
Top: navy with white embroidery - J Crew (old but always feels fresh and crisp to me - I love the embroidery, the length and the skimming fit)
Brooch: thrifted from mom
Bags: BR (the leather one) and Alexander Wang (the suede one)
Leather trench: Elie Tahari

This is a fantastic outfit Roxanna! The colour palette is gorgeous on you and the pattern of the top is fabulous with your hair! Great bags, I especially love the suede one. A nice touch with the sweet flower brooch. The whole outfit is a masterpiece, really exciting to see.

You are much braver than me to dress for spring, it's still winter cold here. Although I have started to flash a sliver of ankle even though it makes me cold. I really like both outfits, especially the utility jacket! I can't wait to wear mine. The added brooch is a nice touch, I'll have to try that.

This is a nice punchy look for spring and good color combination.

I broke out the white jeans the other day for the same reason -- want to get away from all the cosy, and I felt daring enough to expose some ankle to the still-cold (basically same as yours) weather.

Gorgeous outfit - and I love your leather trench.. You're far braver than I am with the white jeans , although I did do a bare ankle the other day. -15C this morning. I think Spring is a myth. I love utility jackets and can't wait to wear mine too !

I agree that the blouse has a crisp feel with the contrasting embroidery. I like the warm tones of your loafers and bag with the utility jacket and white jeans.

Yes, loving that leather trench. What a fun piece and the fit is spot on. Is it olive? The particular shade of it, from the pictures, looks really versatile.

@Angie - thank you! And you have converted me to the white Jean! I had a cream pair that I thought was the same thing but now that I have white, I find that they completely transform a look, as you said - they make it crisper, fresher and more polished.

I love this. These are my favorite colors. Your utility jacket is really cute, and a leather trench? Totally fab!

I talked to my son and his GF this morning. They live in St Paul, MN. She said the winter wasn’t that hard, just that it was unending. No wonder they’re enjoying Hong Kong.

The newspaper announced that spring weather is a good month away for us. I almost went back to bed. It feels like we are living in another hemisphere.

Oh, Lisa. I hear you. I was in Vancouver at the end of February and it was a riot of pansies, daffodils and greenery everywhere. We still have to look at the same dull wintry browns for another month! I feel so done with winter but my bare ankles were freezing today so I'll have to go back to boots tomorrow

I love the mix of colors on you Roxanna! #6 in particular blew me away. Olive plus cognac plus white equals genius! The suede bag is gorgeous. And your hair! Maybe we should work out a trade for a day

Total perfection! I love the colors, the fit and silhouettes on you. I too, am baring my ankles (unless I have playground duty. Then I pull a pair of shearling lined boots out of my classroom closet.).

Love the white with olive...it immediately signals “spring.” Funny how a simple change can transform the feel of an outfit. I stocked up on some olive items in the fall, and I see now how the addition of white will extend their wear into warmer weather (if it ever gets here).

Beautiful! This outfit is a great example of the unifying power of a great bag and footwear in the same, or nearly the same color.
To cold yet for bare ankles here too, but I am faking it by wearing nude knee-highs or stockings underneath, sometimes layering knee-highs over stockings, or wearing no-show Smart Wool peds.
