WIW: Navy & Raspberry & peplum help

I broke out my new Zara navy booties (sized up so the point doesn't bother my feet) & Zara Navy silk sweater. I typically would have left it at that but since I'm trying to add belts more often I wore a nude belt because I wasn't sure what other color would work. I'm not sure I like it better with or without the belt. Just as I was walking out the door I grabbed this knit peplum jacket. Now looking at pictures I'm not sure the proportions of this jacket work with trousers. Do you think it should only be worn with a skirt? Please give any options on this outfit, especially the belt and jacket. Sorry for the dark first couple of pictures, they were taken in the early morning. (I do see that my trousers need to be longer to wear with these boots.)

I might like it better with a skirt...it looks a tad short with trousers. I'm not good on proportion so let's see what others say. Of your pictures, I like the last one...buttoned up...the best.

I like pic 4. Great color combo. I am not good at proportions either ...... so not sure if the jacket should be only worn with skirts.

love the color of the pants! since the jacket has a peplum waist, i would not have added a belt--my theory is, let the peplum draw the attention, and i don't need/want to add additional bulk. i perfer the jacket openned, but i think it works either way.

kkards - I agree with you about not adding the belt after looking at pictures.

I think 4 looks great! It may be short, but I think that is part of the point with a peplum fit.

Well, I love these colours, first of all! And I have been eyeing that Zara sweater. Do you like it? It looks terrific on you. Love the pants, too!

I think the jacket works just fine with the pants, but take my opinion with a grain of salt because I often like the look of a shorter jacket with pants. (I also like longer...I just love jackets, period!)

If you're wearing the jacket, no belt (due to the peplum). But my favourite is semi tucked with belt, no jacket.

Suz - I do like the sweater. It's a mock turtle neck which I didn't realize until I got it. I ordered a S, my normal size, which I like but I also think I'd like it sized up too. It's a real silky knit, looks like it will wash and wear well. The navy looks like it has a slight purplish tint to me.

I really like this outfit. I think the peplum works with the longer tee shirt, not tucked. Love the stripes with the pink/red.

Thanks, AviaMariah! I think it is the same fabric as my grey sweater that I got from Zara. I wish I had ordered it in navy as well, but that is out of stock now in my size, alas. I might check the store when I am in Montreal this weekend.

Angie posted just before I got here! When I looked at it, I first thought #3 is fine, but then WHAM, I saw #4 and that was it. It is just perfect! (As is your little adorable footy sleeper wearing partner in crime!)

#4 with the jacket but I also like #2 without the jacket and with the belt. Adorable shoe accessory there!
