WIW: my pewter boots

I don't have many opportunities to dress up. For example, yesterday we were out looking at birds all day in jeans, fleece, parka, and hiking boots.

But today, I tried to dress up a little, and I wanted to wear my new pewter Seychelle Lucky Penny boots. I got them thinking they would "go" with my hair.

In #1 I'm in my red pea coat. In #2 and #3 I have on black wide leg pants, grey cashmere sweater, with a slightly Christmassy scarf. #4 shows my natural hair color, which I finally gave into in 2013 after many years of denial. #5 shows some details.

I still can't get pictures to come out. I'll keep working on that.

What do you think? The boots are a real departure for me.

You look very nice, the fit of your clothes is great! You have a beautiful hair color, no need to hide it!
I'm guessing those boots will soon be your go to for casual/dressier occasions. They are different but in a good way:-)

Thank you Tina. I think the pants might be a tiny bit too long. And I'm still getting used to my hair.

Alaskagirl, I'll try to take a better picture. I have to go to the doctor this week and I'll try to work out an outfit with them. They make me feel avant garde or subversive or something! Like I said, a real departure for me.

Thanks, Thistle. It was really one outfit, just with my coat over the rest. We've warmed up and I hardly needed it. I am obsessively matchy matchy so the coat matched my scarf.

I hope all you guys in the North are keeping warm. We're watching the SF/Green Bay football game. It's unbelievable. I don't know how anyone can stand to be there!

Susie, thank you. As I said, they're a departure for me. I usually dress very conservatively. I think it's the influence of this forum!

Shevia, thank you! I will try to improve my pics. The sun was coming in the window but only hit my lower legs. For a post on my new boots, the pictures barely showed them! Sorry.

Deborah, thank you! I think if I close the door maybe the light will be less blinding on my legs. And maybe my ipad isn't the best either. My iphone - I don 't know if it would be better.
