WIW (my first) to my 50th High School Reunion!

You all were so kind to chime in a couple months ago when I asked your opinion about what I should wear to my 50th high school reunion...and so here is what I wore:

- floaty top Charter Club
- white leggings Simply Vera Wang
- nude shoes Earth Jacaranda

I know the leggings are probably not held in high regard, but these are fairly sturdy and, since the day was sooooo hot (90+ here in Seattle), they were the coolest white bottoms I could round up. And they were perfect, as I had a lot of work to do prior to the event (setting up, making sure everything was in place) and emceeing the event.

Honestly, it was an all-around success and I hope you don't feel you need to pump me up with compliments, because I felt like I really wore what I wanted to wear and am contented it's over, to say the least! I've included a photo with some of my classmates, to give you an idea of what everyone else was wearing.

So this is mostly a followup to my request for advice and a hearty "thanks" to all of you for helping me, even though I'm not very visible on the forum.

P.S. My sweet husband took lots of photos for me and unfortunately, my eyes were closed for this one. But overall it showed more of my clothes than any other photo, so I hope you can get the idea of what I looked like.

Very well done Sheila! The length and thickness of those leggings are very nice, and the floaty top is nice and long. I'm so glad you were comfortable, able to move easily and most importantly, had a good time! I'm sure your classmates took note.

I will try not to gush, BUT this is something I feel so strongly about! Women of any age can dress appropriately but stylishly, and you proved the point. All you have to do is look at the other 'nice' and 'expected' and 'safe' outfits the other ladies wore to see this.

Fab outfit Sheila! The leggings do appear substantial enough and I think they read as fitted pants. Echoing the others here, you must have been the best dressed woman in the room. I also noticed what Lyn saw. Your friends look smart and nicely dressed, however you have added some personality to your outfit and have created an appropriate and fashion forward outfit. Congrats to you for being involved in the event too. I've helped plan and carry out a couple of our reunions and they seem to take on a life of their own. 'Whew' when it's successfully behind you!

I'm not at all trying to pump you with compliments, but I just have to say that you look lovely in your blue top - that is a gorgeous color on you! I'm always leery of white leggings, but those absolutely work. As others have said, they're substantial enough to read as slim pants.

I think you have illustrated beautifully how to stay current and be age appropriate at the same time. You looked lovely.

Thank you, each one, for your lovely comments. I appreciate your words so much and hope to show you WIWs in the future. (I need a photographer or a tripod...don't have a big mirror or smart phone.) Will get this figured out and see what I can come up with. In the meantime, I am so grateful for your kind responses that helped me figure out what to wear to an event that was quite casual yet commemorative in nature. I feel like we hit the nail on the head.
