When NYC street photographer, Bill Cunningham, died earlier this summer, there was a wonderful article on his amazing work capturing the vibrant and ever-changing fashion scene in Manhattan.

I would have never known about Bill had Inge not mentioned a documentary about his life, film trailer for: "Bill Cunningham New York" (2010).

and article NYTimes: Bill Cunningham, Legendary Times Fashion Photographer, Dies at 87

One of his photos (date unknown, and I'm guessing it was a few years ago or more), really turned my head in such a way that I was inspired to recreate the woman's look (photo 3).

The woman's outfit seemed perfect for summer! All I had to do was find and buy a straw boater (Bought on Amazon. Check.) and a pretty fluid kimono-like blouse in a nice print (one jumped out at me at T J Maxx and I bought the blouse in a much larger size). I also had to take the blouse to my dry cleaner's and have the tailor cut it down the center to create a cardigan effect since it was a pullover. Done.

The light blue in the blouse matches my Gap 1969 straight skimmers that Angie recommended in Spring, 2015. I've been wearing this often, with and without the hat, and enjoy it each time. I add either my Lush scoop-neck top (Nordstrom) or a white tank underneath and wear sandals or cage heels.

So, here's my summer look, courtesy of Bill and Inge! I hope everyone's enjoying themselves no matter what season you're in. Thanks for taking a look. P. S. If anyone can explain to me again how to embed the links with a keyword, I'll make the edit. TU
