WIW-My 'Angie'dress & a borderline non-appropriate dress alteration

Dear YLF,

This is going to be a bit of post and run but I will be back.
The first dress is what I always think of as my "Angie dress", not because Angie recommended it actually ever saw it but I know that Angie likes this neckline on me and the print just reminds me of Angie.

The second one was this blue dress that was not a very good fit and some of you suggested to transform it to a high-low one.
Well, I thought, why pay professionals who know what they are doing when I can just hack away myself?
This is what I came up with , a too short dress in the front, but I do like the color and spent most day at home so I thought it would be ok for today.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions that you have please share.

I can see why Angie would like that dress. Nice proportions, print and cut. Looks great with wedges and the demure white bag. I love that blue one - not too short at all! Looks fab with blue. Good job!

I love dress 1 on you, and I think you did a great job on your alteration of the blue dress!

The first dress does look FAB! on you.
I like the blue, not too short. If you are uncomfortable with it you could wear a short tube skirt under, peaking out in front. White or black would work and if you found the exact color of blue it would mimic the neck line.

Gorgeous b/w dress! As for #2 -- I have so done that! If it's a little short for your comfort, this would make a great vacation coverup! You could also wear simple bike shorts underneath for a bit more "protection." I didn't think it was particularly when I first opened the pic.

I'm flattered to be associated with that killer dress. You wear it beautifully, Celia. I love you in that Armani neckline, and you are sopt on about me loving the graphic pattern.

You have an extremely pretty shoulder line, and dress #2 brings out that feature. It's not a short tight dress. Just a little shorter in front, long in back, and very flared. Works for me if it works for you.

GREAT "hack" on the hi-low dress! It doesn't look too short IMO. The drape of the fabric makes it look like it was meant to be cut that way.

About the blue dress, I had very good solutions here, thank you.I am just no used to wear such short hemlines but the fact that the back is longer makes it more comfortable.

#1 is just beautiful on you Celia and you've added perfect accessories too. I also think #2 is very nice - the color and cut of the top works very well for you and I agree with others that you could wear something under it if you feel it is a little too short.

Oh, you are so beautiful in the first dress - stunning! It's one of the best dresses I've seen in a long time. I like your hi-low dress a lot too, and I don't think it's too short. Angie is right, the neckline is fabulous and super flattering on you in that dress.

I love both the dresses. I can see if you turned a certain way the blue may be too short. It is hard to tell in the picture. It makes a cute at home dress. Maybe you could wear with tights and boots and a jacket. Vickie
