Sorry if this is TMI or over-sharing, but I'm guessing at least a few of you may have these kinds of days as well. I've always had badly fluctuating hormones that wreak havoc on me (both mentally and physically) -- and as I go through menopause they aren't letting up any.

Yesterday was one of *those* days.

While the logical and objective-thinking portion of my brain recognizes that the same outfit I tried on the night before and felt like I looked pretty good in does not look any different the next morning it sure as heck feels like it does.

These are the days where I usually just throw in the towel and search for something that I call a "muumuu outfit" -- basic oversized tunic and leggings with flat boots.

I refused to let myself do that yesterday. Instead I forced myself to wear a "workhorse uniform" of a moto jacket and jeans.

I don't really care for how it turned out. Mostly because the slouch boots, although an awesome color that I adore (they're sort of a salmon/orange/red distressed suede), causes a bit of that "leg stumping" effect because I wore them with the gray jeans, which also visually cut short my already short legs. I wore them cuffed so it wasn't as bad, but still. Not crazy about it.

I tried them with a pair of colored distressed jeans that were close to the same color as the boots themselves, but just didn't care for that much distressed orange/red from head to toe (and switching to a gray jacket didn't help either because it felt too long and slouchy). I finally just reached a point where I couldn't bring myself to care that it wasn't terribly complimentary!

So I'm chalking this one up as a victory simply because I actually walked out of the apartment wearing it instead of switching to something I felt like I could hide in.
