So this is what I wore on Friday. I was still stressed to the max because my wiener dog Oscar's ruptured disc surgery had been postponed to Friday, instead of the scheduled Thursday, because an emergency back fracture had come into the animal hospital that had to take priority over Oscar's surgery.

The good news is Oscar did have the surgery that afternoon and it was successful. We picked him up yesterday evening and even though he's going to have to have nothing but crate rest for the next 2 weeks and he has a massive incision down his throat/neck that makes him look like a frankenweenie, you could already tell he was feeling better because he was moving his head around and more interested and alert. He even tried jumping off my lap at the animal hospital to go pick a fight with a sharpei -- in other words, more like his usual self!

This is definitely another version of my fallback style of outfit. Primarily gray and black and very RATE rocker/grunge-like.

I love the gray silk sweater with attached t-shirt sleeves. The sleeves are a bit big/loose but 99% of the time I wear them pushed up so you can't even tell. I also decided not to be too "gloomy-stressed-girl", by throwing on my peplum waist vintage 1970's red leather jacket to add *some* color.

I'm also really digging wearing snoods and turbans this past year. Most folks call the knit versions beanies --but I wear mine way back on the head and then just pull my hair into the excess fabric and let it drape. Back in the 50's this style was called a snood. Eh, whatever they're calling it nowadays, I like the option for controlling my hair when I don't feel like dealing with it. Whether or not it's fashionable I don't much care. I'll just call myself a trendsetter or fashion-forward or some other buzzword and continue to break out the turbans and snoods when the mood strikes.

The belt I'm wearing is definitely one of my favorites. At first glance it looks like just a black leather studded belt. If you look a bit closer, though, you can see that the "studs" are actually comprised of alternating flowers and skulls.
