Cardiff girl, thank you. My husband still keeps it in his chest of drawers, but hasn’t worn it in years.
Cee, thank you.
Kelly, thank you. As a friend would say, it’s a freebie. I get credit for knitting him a vest, but get to wear it myself. I chose the colors for him, but I had no idea I’d be wearing it.
Joy, thank you. As a knitter, I love these traditional patterns.
Shevia, thank you. I was reaching for the sweater in the second outfit, and a bunch of sweaters came tumbling down on me.
Karen, thank you. Yes, we need to get together, again!
Alicewonderland, thank you.
Bridgie, thank you.
Jane, thank you.
Kate, thank you. I looked a lot. I have mules that are this same cement, and a bag, too. They are a quieter shade of white, if you know what I mean. Yet not ivory, either.
Style Fan, thank you. Cutting the steek is definitely scary, especially after all that work. I’ve cut a couple other sweaters I’ve knit. One was a pullover that years later I turned into a cardigan. I was able to do that because I had leftover yarn to make the button bands. The other was a vest that was knit with variegated yarn. I wanted the stripes to match. It was less successful because the yarn was bulky.
