WIW: more black, but..

A little while ago I posted a pic wearing this Issey Miyake bondage skirt. I struggle with a top that goes well, so someone cleverly suggested a cropped jumper.

I searched everywhere with no luck and ended up with this one from Boohoo.com. The problem is, it's a tad short. It is very obvious in this pic because of the flash, but not so much IRL as the black cami under fades into the background better.

I am wondering whether I should buy a trim and sew it on the bottom....or would it ruin the look?

Hmmmm. I really kind of love it. I would worry that adding anything to it would lose the shape of the top. The only thing that I can picture would be adding a long strip that wraps all the way around the back and again to the front - sort of like your obi belt - and ties, but all in black so that it becomes an extension of the top. I think it would tie in (pun intended) to the Asian feel of those sleeves. It could still stay quite short, but overlap the top of the skirt (if that belt isn't attached).

As I recall I suggested a crop sweater:) This does look nice but I agree it's too short. If it wasn't pricey you could certainly try to add some length to it. OR you could buy the Metalicus Long Sleeve Loose Knit crop sweater http://www.metalicus.com/outle.....black.html which is on sale at the moment. I am actually wearing mine today!! It's a cotton/silk blend and is light weight, doesn't add any bulk and is nice and warm but not too much so.

On me the sweater sits at just on my natural waist, but I am short.

I think the outfit looks quite cool tho. What if you layered a short (but longer than the top) white silky cami/top, or black for for the matter to continue the black layered look.

I like this outfit as it is. The cami and the black tights echo each other, and I like the layering.
And I wouldn't change the pullover, even if it doesn't quite have the effect you were going for in this outfit. I think it would look great over a longer tunic or blouse. I agree with Deborah that a short sweater that just covers the waist of the skirt would look fab with this skirt, too, so maybe could use another new sweater.

I must admit though, I ended up buying 3 cropped jumpers, 2 from Boohoo and one from Ebay. My favourite with the skirt is the one with the wide sleeves. The other one from Boohoo is a better length but isn't doing it for me. The one from Ebay is a little long for the skirt. It's very unusual, light grey, slightly off shoulder, bell sleeves. I'm not sure what to wear it with yet.

As much as I like the look of the Metallicus one, I can't do cropped jumper no 4. Thank you for the suggestion though Deborah.

I like the idea of layering it. That could work. I also like the idea of the wrapped strip. I need to have a play.
