WIW: Monogamy vs. monotony?

Sometimes no matter how much I love an outfit, I can't help wondering if I'm stuck in a style or color rut. I'm not bored by any means, but honestly, I wonder if everyone else is!

COH skinnies (love these so much), old UWP sweater (chopped this one too!), Ugg booties, wolverine skull necklace. Off to lunch and a movie.

No monotony, no way, no how! You know your style and it is awesome and perfectly you. I love the jeans, the sweater, and those boots. All of it. What a great casual/on-the-go look. It. Just. Works!!! I know what you mean. You wonder, "Does this really just work perfectly for me? Or am I just starting to carve an Oregon Trail size rut for myself and am totally blind to it?" I think the key is that your pieces are so modern, well fitted and not at all boring that it is a good version of repetition rather than a bad version.

I suspect that having a group of outfits that you love and wear a lot is a big part of having an identifiable style. This outfit is very 'you' and I'm sure part of the reason it looks so good on you is that it gels with your style persona.

The same happens to me! The important is how we feel, for my personal experience, the other don't notice that much how we dress.

You look great! And happy! I think you can't be in a rut if you're happy with your style. A rut only exists if you're bored. Otherwise, it's your signature style, as Thistle said.

Lol! I think as long as you feel great, you will look fab and we will love seeing you. IKWYM though about a rut--I sometimes think this too but then dismiss it.

We all have a comfort zone, usually for a reason - we have found a formula that suits our lifetstyle and comfort needs, as well as our style persona. You are definitely not boring.

Thanks, Ceit and everyone. Don't get me wrong - this outfit is a happiness factor of perfect for me, and I'm not concerned about what others think per se. I'm just torn between that whole formula/uniform vs. variety issue sometimes. In my days off, I want to wear my favorites, but I also want to play! Guess this is the endless conundrum of the fashion-obsessed.

I think the formula is working for you, and, as far as the forum goes, its good to see someone dressing with the signature style consistently. I admire this ability! That said, if you get bored, you could always designate the next day as a "vacay challenge" day.

I find myself getting bored about 4 weeks after a seasonal change --- time to tweak the wardrobe! I'm just getting there right now.

Una, I think that nagging feeling may just be the after-effect of being used to a very large and eclectic wardrobe. Now that you have really refined your look, it feels odd to not have all the variety. But I would chalk it up to growing pains or withdrawals or whatever you call it as long as YOU are not bored!
