WIW: Mojo-recovering attempt!

I decided to try to dress like I have a better attitude and do a real WIW, so I donned my silver skinnies (which always make me happy) with this Foxcroft tencel denim shirt (shout out to MaryK twin!) and my Harley-Davidson boots. It's spring break so dropping kid at play date then to work for some catch-up.

It's 8 degrees F - chilly chilly!

Feedback welcome! Is the sleeve roll weird? They are 3/4 length and hard to scrunch as very wide in the cuff.

I like the blue and the skinnies together! I think the sleeve roll does look a little heavy but I don't know what to suggest to fix it.

THose silver skinnies are fabulous paired with the blue shirt, Una. You know, sometimes acting the way you want to feel, makes you feel that way. I hope you are feeling better because of this outfit as it turned out lovely. I also like the silver cuff.

Maybe layer a long sleeve tee under the denim shirt to help you do a proper scrunch? I don't know why, but I'm picturing a camo print to go under that denim shirt.

Silver skinnies would make me happy too!

I think you look great and sometimes dressing how you want to feel instead of feeling how you want to dress is the way to go. It looks like it worked to me! you know you could have the sleeves tailored in a little maybe if they bother you that width, but I am not offended by the cuff roll at all and I love your silver skinnies. You know Confucious said "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" so just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get there

Those skinnies are so fab, Una! They look great with those Harley boots! I don't mind the roll on the sleeves at all--seems like it would work unrolled as well. The blouse looks drapey and so sleek!

How do you feel in this Una? You know I absolutely LOVE those silver skinnies on you and they look incredible tucked into the Harley boots. I also really like the denim shirt - it's a beautiful shade of blue and looks like it has a bit of sheen to it. I agree that the cuffed sleeves maybe aren't ideal but sometimes you just gotta work with what's there, you know? Is there a button at the bottom of the sleeve? If so, moving the button over to make it a bit tigheter in the cuff might allow you to scrunch the sleeve and have it stay up.

I love those metallic pants and wish I could carry off that style the way you do. You look effortlessly chic.

Did you try rolling the sleeves for one or two rolls and sliding them up instead of using the button thingy? I almost never use those things on camp shirts.

I love the silver skinnies and Harleys! The fit of the boots is fantastic on you, they have just the right ankle height and fit.

As for the tab sleeves, can you unroll them, fasten the wrists, and push the sleeves up, buttoned? Although that might pinch.

Or, for the sleeves, roll them just once or twice, and then push them up and fasten with the thingie. Makes for a less structured, less bulky arm.

Terrific outfit, Una, and I think you can safely say your mojo is intact! I am wearing a NON-tencel denim shirt today and wish it had tencel for the lovely drape of yours. LOVE your silver jeans. That's UWP to the max.

Absolutely love this. The denim top softens the metallic skinnies nicely. Maybe you could hide an elastic hair tie in the scrunch of the sleeves to keep them up? I am feeling plenty of mojo!

Thanks, ladies! The silver skinnies are like pajamas, they are so comfy. This is not a super-anything outfit, but it's functional enough for me, and as many of you advised, that's probably what I should be aiming for in a time of turmoil.

As for these sleeves! This IS two rolls - they are 3/4 length. The cuffs are wide and loose and difficult to roll. When I push them up while buttoned my elbow pops through the hole between the button and sleeve. If left down they are at an awkward length. I think the sleeves were rolled and buttoned with the strap at the store too (got this maybe 2 years ago?). For now I've folded the cuff part then scrunched, but we will see if they stay in place!

Love this! It is relaxed, but the sheen is an interesting combo of RATE meets classic elegance.

BTW -- I second Shannon --- moving the button on the sleeve cuff over to tighten usually works.

Super!! I had the same thought as Anna, plop a big ol' statement necklace over the top. But that's not super Una-y

For the sleeves, this is what I do: Fold the cuff back once leaving some additional sleeve at the end, then roll the bottom of the cuff+the extra sleeve bit over half the cuff. It leaves the top third of the cuff exposed, and the double roll keeps it in place but less bulky because it's not over the whole thing. Push 'em up and tab it all up!

I like the denim shirt, it looks nice and soft and it drapes well. I also like Aida's idea for a cuff roll, I'm going to have to try that myself.

Sigh...those silver skinnies are so covetable, and love the silver cuff. Would love to see the silver repeated at neck...a silver/grey scarf? Statement necklace? One of those crazy bubble things that are all over the 'net?

I don't think the sleeves look too heavy, but maybe they feel worse than they look. Try a couple rolls and the. Push them up. I really love these silver jeans! I had my eye on a pair too, and you make them look so good.

This outfit makes me happy, too. I am cuff-challenged. Still having trouble picturing how to do a cuff roll, despite Aida's excellent instructions. This would make a good video tutorial, don't you think?

I have that shirt, too! Angie recommended that we button the tab but not roll the cuffs, just let them hang. It's a fun look on days I can handle being so wacky and out of control ;-).
