WIW & Missing Pinspiration. - YouLookFab Forum

It has been a while, but I wanted to post this outfit today because I am wearing a shirt that I'm trying to convince UNA she needs to buy in mint to replace her JCrew one. This is a Skinny Boyfriend shirt from the Gap sized up to a medium because they run small or normal or whatever.

Work day, so Banana Republic Sloans it was. Also wearing my shiny patent oxfords with no socks. The photo doesn't show them off very well, but they are great shoes so I'm including a pic of them too! (Ignore the dog hair. I couldn't resist giving my dog a little back scratch this morning and my pants are telling the tale.)

And... I just went to capture the pinspiration photo for this and I can't find it anywhere. Grrrr. Slightly mod looking gamine girl slouching wearing a button down, dark trousers, trench coat, oxfords without socks. You know, more or less what I knocked off.

ETA: I FOUND IT! The missing pin, found, just now. Hooray!

Navy! I thought black, but it definitely has a bluish tint in the sunlight. (I know. The lengths I stoop to to bend others to my shopping will.)

@AviaMariah, when I saw them at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I was so smittened! Most oxfords feel too masculine for me, since I'm a girly girl at heart. These just seemed so perfectly both masculine and feminine. Love!

@Parsley, thank you! Wouldn't that be great? To always be able to give off that nonchalant, classical elegance vibe? I think I need to capture that as a style descriptor. My goal: nonchalant classical elegance with an accent of trendiness and femininity. I was just thinking that I didn't have any style descriptors and there you go and hand them to me on a plate! You are FAB!

Oh I've been meaning to pair my gingham shirt with my dark skinnies after seeing a pic on pinterest too! lol The pic I saw used a green utility jacket as a topper rather than a trench though. I love your version & am even more inspired!

@Vicki, thanks! I was laughing when I read "little one." My dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, so she's almost as big as me! She's a sweet little baby, though. Love that we'll both be sporting the fur-baby hair accessory. It's all the rage in the smart set!

(When I read about the dog hair I was expecting swathes of it or something... not a wee little hair or two. Gosh, if I ever showed a close up of my clothes you would be mortified at the amount of cat hair stuck in every single fiber of every single piece of clothing I own )

@Aida So made me laugh. I get the full fur jacket treatment sometimes. I can usually catch that, though, before I post it in a public forum! Totally worth it, isn't it. (My kitties are gone, but I miss that great feeling of looking down to find a warm, furry little love has insinuated itself on my lap without my even noticing. So sweet!)

@doubleh, MaryK is actually the Pinterest Queen of my world. Finding pins on Pinterest is pretty hit or miss for me too, other than when someone else (like those three!) have done the fashion footwork for me. I just kind of casually pin looks that I see here and there by bloggers or in other pinners' boards. I follow Angie and MaryK and AnnaGybe, among others.

@rabbit, I live in Portland, you know. FWIW, I think your hair is gorgeous! I have to put a plug in for my hair cutter, though. I think my hair cutter is magic. Really magic. She gets that my hair needs to be current and work for my professional work setting, but that that doesn't mean I need it to be super conservative. And she's ridiculously reasonable. If you want details, let me know!

Ah! Yes, K if you could PM the name that might be useful. Thanks so much! I used to throw myself on the mercy of Dosha (didn't work out so well) and now on Bishops Barbershop (usually works out pretty well, but varies a bit on style direction).
