Friday's "minimally fab" ensemble suited my current mood perfectly. Right now, I'm all about keeping things as simple as possible. School just ended for the summer and June-August are the slowest times for the Etsy business, so we're into lazy days of reading and tooling about the garden.

After I lamented that the silk tunics I purchased last fall were too fragile for my life, several of you suggested that I just wear them until they gave out. I'm going just that today, with jeans and sandals, messy hair, and smeared-on eyeliner. I feel pretty good.

This is gorgeous. I have a slight preference for the outfit without the cardigan, but if you need it for warmth it works very well, just makes the whole look a bit less minimal.

I like this a lot! Just wear the silk - I handwash silk all the time and hang it to dry overnight. I find it less fussy than dry clean only rayon, despite silk being more luxurious/expensive.

Very pretty! You should feel good, you look good. A question for you, are the Bed Stu shoes/sandals comfortable? I can only find them online and if they don't work I have to send back and I ...hate... sending stuff back. I am really bad about waiting until they can't go back and then I am stuck with the items. I see the Bed Stu online and they look so fresh that I always want to try them. Do they run narrow or small? Thanks for any help.

Angie and StyleFan, thanks for the compliments on my hair. It is hitting the point where it's getting too heavy and the waves are giving way to frizz, so I think I'm going to chop off a few inches. The sweet spot seems to be just above the shoulder.

Angie, I am coming to peace with the fact that my life is 95% casual and embracing it!

cobaltblue and StyleFan - Alas, I bought two of these silk tunics, and the fabric on both started fraying/pulling apart at the seams the first time I wore them. It really soured me on Lucky Brand, because they would have been great pieces for me if the quality had been better.

Anna - I find the Bed Stu to be quite comfortable for a non-comfort-brand sandal. I'm not sure I would wear them for days of intense walking, but for more average activity levels, they're great! The leather upper is soft and the footbed has at least some padding. My only caveat is you're a person who needs arch support, I wouldn't recommend them, as they don't have any.

dakotacheryl - I can see how a poncho would work really well with these sandals and be a great casual look. I don't have one, but I'd definitely consider it if I found the right one!

Beth Ann - My reading is all over the place this summer! Right now, I'm reading a nonfiction book called The End of Average about how comparing people to statistical averages ends up doing a disservice to almost everyone. Also reading the young adult Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater, which is really charming. I hope it's the next big YA movie adaptation.
