WIW: minimal rocker, weekend style

I don't think I've posted many casual, everyday outfits here, so here's one from today. Running errands and playing kid taxi

Top: Enza Costa cotton cashmere blend -- a new favorite brand. Love how the shirts are cut and this fabric is soooo nice on the skin, and warm too.
Bottom: Paige jimmy jimmy skinnies. A slouchy skinny or skinny BF.
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Everly
Jacket: Sanctuary denim moto. Replacement for my standard white jean jacket. This is super bleached denim with moto detailing.

Curious to know how you might categorize this style -- my first thought was minimal rocker.

Minimal rocker fits! Your hair and the so-cool boots make this outfit rock!

I love the way your skin peeks through the booties. I've been coveting those all winter, but can't justify a second pair of black booties.

This is my kind of look! I love everything about this. I've heard of Enza Costa but never tried any before as they are kind of pricey for tee shirts (compared to Velvet or Splendid). But maybe they're worth it.

Minimal rocker sounds good to me!

I think you described it perfectly. I like the softer colors for day time errands--it's rocker but not OTT. You look comfortable and stylish. The booties are divine! Oh, and I love your hair!

Not to high jack the thread but how did those strappy DM sandals work out for you last summer? Did they turn into all day shoes?

This does read minimal rocker to me as well:-) That top looks so soft and cosy. I love the lighter colours on top and those jeans look fab with your boots. Great weekend look, Cathy.

So fab! Every detail is so interesting. I had to look up the boots and have fallen in love with them in the perforated tan leather. And the denim moto is so interesting - I think I bought my traditional white denim jacket too soon!

Isis: After a long search for black booties, I finally found them with the Everlys I know what you mean about justifying a second pair though...

Denise: It's funny about tees. I've been working my way up, from Gap to Velvet, Splendid, James Perse, and now Enza Costa. I remembering scoffing at paying more than $20 for a tee! But you can definitely find them on sale. Piperlime has a few basic layering tees on sale (tempted to get a black one) and Yoox had a few on deep discount at $20ish.

Kelly: I enjoyed wearing my strappy DMs last summer! But they are unfortunately not 8 hr action shoes for me, because they are on the high side for me. I can wear them to work, since I'm sitting most of the time, or out and about for short errands. Can't wait to break them out.

Amiable: Thanks -- I think I am going to get a lot of use out of this jacket. I never wore my white denim one that much, and now I realize it was missing that "rocker" element.

Pil: ahhh... when I bought those booties they were black only. Now you've alerted me to the fact that they come in tan (and also white). Eek!

Jjsloane: Interesting you should bring up UWP. In the previous UWP thread, we had determined I was of the Rocker Warrior type -- not really any P here!

Ooh, I love how simple this is. Every piece is there for a reason, and every piece is cool and flattering in its own right without upsetting the whole. Unfussy and great casual look.

cciele--were the Everly's true to size? Sometimes I'm an 8.5, sometimes a 9. My foot is "high volume" not especially wide but can fill a shoe......

You can tell that i am coveting those boots!

I think you look very current, "rocker lite". I have an Enza Costa v neck cashmere/cotton blend that is super soft and luxurious but VERY warm (and I run cold) so don't wear as much as I would if it were pure cotton or other blend.

Isis: Yes, I would say the run true to size. I ended up getting a half-size up to accommodate my bunions, and I think I would have been fine with my normal size.

Nicole: I was pleasantly surprised at how warm the shirt was, since I could throw a lightweight topper over it and not be cold. I have some of the 100% cotton shirts too, which also feel very nice but aren't so warm.

Now that's my kind of weekend outfit! Love the minimalism, and esPECially the touch of luxe fabrication here. I wore something similar yesterday (slouchy tee, big belt, BF jeans rolled, and slipper flats; and would've added my moto if I left the house ) and was just telling my husband that I planned to use it as my spring weekend uniform. So /highfives from me! I really love your denim jacket, such a fun piece!
