This past Sunday, I volunteered to do some demos for an open studio tour at a community space where my work is sold. The afternoon turned out to be hilarious fun, as the venue was also hosting a "Prettiest Chicken" contest in their courtyard. About a hundred people showed up to cheer on the 16 entered chickens, which were judged by a discerning group of six-to-ten-year-olds. My friend and I got to watch the fun out the big front windows, while working and talking to arts patrons.
I wore this black midi skirt with a striped top, ballet flats, and dramatic lip color. Probably won't do such dark lippie in the summer again, but I was feeling bold.
(Oh, and my library is a mess right now, so please enjoy this board game backdrop, in lieu of the usual books. )
