I mentioned in an earlier forum post that I had made myself a pencil skirt. Well...here it is! Home sewists - I'll write about the details on my blog Friday morning.

It's made of an indigo cotton-blend two-way stretch fabric lined with a contrasting chartreuse lining fabric. The two-way stretch means that I was able to get it reeeeaaaallllyyyy curve-hugging and still be able to sit. The sturdiness of the cotton-blend (a.k.a. "body") means that I don't need any "smoothing" undergarments. yay!

Technically, it's a wiggle-skirt more than a pencil skirt. I can *just* go up stairs without a problem, and my gait is definitely more wiggly in this skirt...which is the point of a wiggle skirt!

Aside: I tried it with the poet blouse (from my "What do you think of this shirt" forum post) this morning, but the blue-on-blue was too much...even for my blue-lovin' self, so I went with this rust-colored top from Anthropologie. I wore the cardigan to class for warmth, but I prefer the outfit without that extra layer. I am really looking forward to pairing lots of tops with this skirt. The high-waist makes it look like a two-color dress more than a separates outfit. So cool!
