This is what I am wearing to work today. I bought the top and skirt separately, but by some happy coincidence the checks on the top match the skirt perfectly. I am in matchy-matchy heaven.

I like the shape of this top, but I think it is a little bit short in the waist and I have had some trouble styling it. Any suggestions appreciated, as my husband loved this when I wore it this morning (very unusual to get a comment from him), so I think I need to wear it more often!

I have also had my hair lightened a bit for summer. I'm still not entirely sure about moving out of my usual copper tones, but I think I like it.

Oh my goodness, you look sensational! WOW! Get your husband to take you out to celebrate. What a fab outfit. I love everything about it, including your hair.

The top doesn't look short waisted for you, but I know those things are sometimes difficult to judge in a picture. At any rate -- have you tried it just with jeans? It is almost a peplum shape -- it would look great with a midi tube skirt, too.

Thanks, Suz. I have tried it with jeans, but it feels like it rides up a bit. It is a peplum style, but the peplum is very short with folding at the waist and the top. I like the idea of a midi tube skirt! I think I have struggled with proportions and that may do the trick!

You're looking fabulous Sharon! I love the lighter tones in your hair. I think your top is perfect for wearing with a skirt (as long as you're comfortable that no flesh is flashing at work, lol). Very fashion forward with the sandals! Now I'm curious about your measurements and height because looking at your pictures makes me think we could be body type twins.

Anna, when I took these shoes to be re-heeled the shoe repair man joked that he was going wear them that night after he had fixed them. At least, I think he was joking!

MaryK, I think high-waisted would be good. Nothing immediately springs to mind, but I will have a play in my closet.

Claire, I am 168 cm( 5'7) and my measurements are 83,67,90 (cm). It's good to have a body twin - I hope we are similar so I can copy you!

Love that top -- and I think it would probably be just right with something high-waisted, but it looks fab with that skirt. And the sandals! Amazing.

You look beyond fab! I don't think you look matchy-matchy. To me, "matchy-matchy" always looks contrived; your color combos just look like they happen to go together.

I also think that trying something high-waisted for a bottom would be the best thing for the top. I am always struggling with waists being too low...strange to think that others suffer from the opposite problem. :^)

I have a long waist too, so I sympathise re: the top's length, but it looks really flattering & proportional with the skirt. I have a few pairs of higher waisted trousers & jeans just for my shorter tops, especially the ones that don't tuck in to skirts.

When husbands say something, seemingly unprovoked, it speaks volumes This is great outfit and I love it on you. I see no issues with the top length, but I appreciate that how you feel matters the most - still, nothing is off to my eye.

I think you have a winner here and to style it you can basically go down any route: skirts (albeit in clean, simpler cuts, not busy as I'd make the top the star of the show here) or pants that pick up any of the colours from the top.

I love the hair. I have to go back to your old posts to compare it with the previous hairstyle and colour, but this is great as is - it really opens up your face. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to add some delicate shine with the lipgloss.

Totally gorgeous and I see no issues with the top. I can see it looking fab with Kate Hepburn style high waisted fluid pants.
The summer hair colour looks good too.

May I add my "Wow!" to the list. Gorgeous. And so, so stylish. Stylish like a style icon. I want to be you! You have captured the effortless ultimate chic: the nude arms, the footwear, the checkers, the earrings! No wonder even your DH noticed.

As for ideas to wear the top: I think you are in the right direction choosing waist hugging bottoms to let the peplum take center stage. Skinny jeans are too risqué, as they are usually low waist. Maybe with high waist palazzo black plants ?
