WIW Mashup: Kitchen Sink + DonnaF Valentine Challenge

I wore this outfit to church today. I loved Angie's kitchen sink outfit, but sadly, I don't have plaid pants. (I'm going look for some, though!) Also, I was a greeter, so I wanted to look festive for Valentine's Day. So here are three patterns: stripes, polka dots, and snake, plus red for Valentine's Day. DonnaF's challenge also included a no grey clause. This is soooo hard!

I wore my new red boiled wool jacket, navy and white striped top, red and blue silk scarf, a handmade sterling heart pin (made by me), and new snake pattern boots. I've loved the boots that Smittie and Suz had, but could not justify getting them until I found them 50 percent off at Dillards. Yeah!

So, what do you think? If you have any suggestions, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

Angie, thank you. I know this is a minimal version of the maximal look, but I was trying to stay true to DonnaF's challenge, too, of no black or grey. I'm really interested in the kitchen sink look, but the Valentine's challenge is kind of limiting. I might be able to pile on more pattern tomorrow - I have a red and grey plaid jacket that I could combine with stripes and maybe another pattern.

Valentine Kitchen Sink style! There was lots of red at my church today. I love that boiled wool jacket. Is it scratchy?

Joy, thanks! The jacket is not scratchy. I wouldn't say it's soft, but not scratchy. It's not thick like other boiled wool I've had. It was in the low 30s when I went to church, though, and it felt fine. I saw lots of red today, too.

Bonnie, thanks! I started looking for plaid pants, but haven't find anything so far. I have such a hard time finding pants at all, that adding the additional requirement, plaid, might make it impossible.

Quietgirl, thanks! You're already mixing patterns! I'd love to see your version. I was having trouble with the scarf due to the annoying tags. It turns out, the edges won't unravel if you cut the stitches on the tags. It's so much easier now.
