WIW: Madewell items - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all. Here are a few items I recently purchased from Madewell. I rarely buy from this store so here are some my reviews.

Madewell buttondown black printed blouse. I've been looking for a black printed and when I saw this online, I wanted it. Unfortunately, this blouse runs big so definitely size down. I'm usually a medium and I ended up exchanging it for an extra small.
The Madewell black flare jeans mid rise are very stretchy so don't size up. I thought these were high waisted so was a bit disappointed when I got the mid-rise which bugs me because I get a huge gap at the waist line. It's too late for me to return it so maybe I can fix the waist myself.
Madewell leather bucket bag. I've been eye-ing this burgundy bag for a while. The color and price was a steal. I just wish it had a zipper, and feet to protect the bottom of the bag.

Pretty printed blouse. But wow, talk about a difference in sizing. The wide variety in sizing drives me batty, I never know what size is going to work.

Would a belt work for the waist gap? That often works for me (and saves me a trip for the tailor).

Nice classic shape bag. The burgundy color is a refreshing change from a sea of black bags. I don't see burgundy very often. Great find.

A waist hack is an easy alteration at the dry cleaners. That's my suggestion of you can't return the bottoms

That's a great outfit. I like the burgundy bag with black and white. Too bad about the issue with the jeans rise. They look fab on you, so I hope you find the fix worthwhile. I just ordered a couple of things from Madewell and returned one. It's hit or miss for me, unless I can try the items on in the store.

I love Madewell and have purchased quite a few items over the years, particularly bags and belts. I've been eying that same bag, but in the maroony-brown suede I don't think I will get, I landed on a really nice black leather similarly sized tote, that was half the price. I've long loved their blazers, and have a couple of those too. Was tempted by a pair of wide leg/wide hem jeans that I also didn't bit on, just don't need any more jeans RN. But YOU look great, and I adore the bag and the jeans.
