WIW: Luv it and hate it.

I luv it when I'm doing laundry and find a nice clothing combo while I'm hanging up clothes to dry!

However, there's something about the silhouette or maybe the fit that just made me feel less than fab even though the colors made me happy.

I think I'm finally learning that I need structured, fitted tops to best flatter my shape.

Questions:
1) Ditsy florals still in?
2) Do you think that because the proportions were 50/50, this seemed a bit dowdy?

I'm pretty sure you can make anything look fab, AJ! This is a cute little combo to me, but it doesn't say "AJ" to me - it seems too unstructured and playful somehow. If each piece were anchored by something else more tailored, you might feel better.

I do think the 50/50 thing makes each item a little less fab, but both top and skirt seem really solid to me individually...

I think the 50/50 comment hit the nail on the head. Is the bottom a skirt or a dress? Could you tie up the blouse so that it is more cropped? I don't know if ditsy is "in" or not, but I like it on you and with the bold blue bottom.

I agree with your "diagnosis" LOL.
About the floral pattern. I think anything that looks "Liberty inspired" tends to be timeless but again, I am not really sure.

I think the bright skirt overpowers the ditsy print. i love the shirt tied like that.
I think a skirt without the fullness and a neutral color would work better.

I agree with your assessment, but I'd smile if I saw you on the street. Even without perfect balance to an outfit, your style is still really evident and approachable. I like the blouse a lot, and the scale of the print suits your frame. BTW -- I like the shoes with this. I know they're flat and classic, but your feet and legs always look so ladylike, even when you're casual!

Cute! I think it's a little too much volume on top with a voluminous skirt. Not bad, though for a laundry day inpired outfit!

Lovely colours for you! But I agree with your diagnosis. It may be a style evolution more than a set-in-stone "rule" for you. And it may be seasonal, as well. I think in high summer a loose, all over flowy look somehow feels okay.

I know what you mean. The colors work brilliantly, but then the actual pieces do not play accordingly. I think the top is too full for this bottom. I like the print and would wear with slimmer skirt or pants (now you need skinnies in that gorgeous blue)
