When I got home from work on Monday, I told my 13yo DD I felt like the Queen of Hearts. She told me it was just Low-Key CosPlay. So I went with it and decided to be inspired by Disney Villains all week. Of course, it wasn’t long before I realized most villains wear black with either red or purple. My goal was to have fun and keep it Low-Key…no costumes!

1. Not planned, but Queen of Hearts.

2. Maleficent: I loved the way this one turned out. I captured her black and purple clothes in my skinnies and Converse shoes. She often is pictured with a green aura or smoke around her, so I went with a green shirt (plus I love purple and green together). It looked plain and I thought I might be cold at work, so I added the cardigan. The spots reflect the moment in the movie when the 3 fairies were fighting over what color Aurora’s dress should be and there were spots of color flying out of the chimney. Mickey Mouse earrings were added.

3. Hades: This was my favorite interpretation all week and I had to laugh when I saw Angie’s most recent color combo. I think I nailed the colors for Hades and the looseness of the outfit reflected his toga as well. I flipped my hair out a bit (like flames) and did a smokier eye than usual (which you can’t see in the picture).

4. Hans: This was my least favorite of the week, but I was running out of black! I had boots or booties planned, but they looked really goofy with the short sleeve white cardigan, so I just went with black flats. I also had a few scarves that would have copied his cravat, but they weren’t quite the right color and I wasn’t feeling them. So I chose a pendant that mimicked the shape of his scarf. And of course, my earrings are “ice”.

5. Ursula: I love her! Saved my black maxi and flowy cardigan to represent her tentacles. Found a purple shirt in my closet that wasn’t quite deep enough in color, but it worked. Added some seashell earrings and a light dusting of blue eyeshadow for details.

So that was my low-key Disney Villains cosplay for the week! I hope you have as much fun looking at my interpretations as I did putting together the looks and wearing them!
