Other than my happiness factors, there is not much festive going on. I am saving that for this week at work. The week before Holiday Break has some pretty high style standard days (Make it Merry, Crafting, Seasonal Sweater and Pajama......all rolled into one crazy week).

#1 I bought this Karl Lagerfield sweater coat last spring and loved it. I weighed a bit more then. Now I am wondering if it is a tad too big.
#2, 3 olive and black and happy bling. Talbots turtleneck and pants.
#4, 5 weekend wear and happiness factors. LL Bean sweater, Burberry scarf, Sorel boots. The center bracelet was given to me by a student. I smile every time I see it.
#6 Jeans Day Talbots jacket and dark jeans

Seeing the muted shades in these photos doesn’t make me happy. Perhaps it is a good thing that the coming week requires some holiday cheer.

Well you always look so lovely and this week is no exception.

My favourite look is #6 - you look amazing in this outfit - the colour and fit - simply elegant.

#1, I also love your sweater coat. Maybe it is a little big, but it is sooo fab and glamorous! Love how you have added the gold accents.

As for #4, when you wear a Burberry scarf, you don't really need to add too much - I love how with all your outfits you have at least one special piece or accessory that takes it to another stylish level.

Looking forward to seeing your holiday cheer outfits. It sounds like a busy week ahead.

I love your muted palette here, but I am a lover of neutrals. I would wear any one of these outfits. I especially love that long vest in #2 - fab!

That coat has a looseness that feels very current. Overall nice use of a winter palette with jewelry and pattern as accents.

Now, I need the lowdown on your boots esp in 2 and 4

Thank you, Bijou. #6 was my favorite of the lot, too. Oooh, my outfits this week will likely be over the top and look very themed.....we tend to go big for school spirit events. Just giving some fair warning!

Kellygirl, thank you for your kind comment. I love boots and it is a good thing, because living in Maine I wear them from Oct-Apr!
Thank you bj1111. The boots in #2 are Sam Edelman Penney boots. The boots in #4 are an all weather Sorel, but not insulated for weather. They are a fun 2 tone and have a great non slip sole.

You wear these earthy neutrals beautifully! I do get what you are saying though ... if I wear too many neutrals for too long I feel blah (conversely, if I wear too many colors for too long, I feel messy - it's about finding the right balance!)

Enjoy moving into a more festive fashion space, but you DO look ab fab in these!

From what I can see, the coat in #1 looks the right size.

You always manage to get the proportions right for your toppers! Do you hem or alter sweaters or shirts? I need a slightly larger top to allow room in my bust but then the length is off, even in a petite size. The boots are just stupendous

And the muted colors get a nice pop from the boots and jewelry. How tall are you? I'm 5 '2" and your style proportion choices may be a good inspiration for me.

Angie, thank you so much for your kind comments. It’s true, I am fond of the littles and I think they are fond of me, too. Thank you for the validation on the fit of the coat!
Canada, I am 5’2”. I don’t hem or alter my toppers. With a variety of lengths on the market, I have been able to find ones that work for me. If they are calf length, then find heeled boots and slim under layers work best for me. That way the fabric doesn’t overwhelm me. Black or navy as a column of color often helps, too. Have fun finding the toppers and proportions that work for you!

I really like this restful, neutral palette and the clever bookending with your beautiful hair in #1. Thinking back to last year when you discovered that technique -- now you are a pro!

Second outfit is sophisticated and perfect for a rainy or wet-snowy day!

I also love the Burberry scarf on you! (And wow, what a great collection of boots).

The Talbots jacket elevates the jeans and makes a fun juxtaposition.

Altogether you look wonderful. As for the palette, your bright smile and jewellery lighten every outfit. A lot of times photos don't do justice to the "shine" elements in our outfits, I feel -- maybe a professional's would but it is hard to capture that element as it is in real life.

Lovely outfits! My favorite is 2 with the drapey vest and tall boots. You look really tall in that, it’s hard to believe you are 5 ft 2.

Suz, thank you for your kind words. Bookending was my #1 fave new lesson last year! I have used that strategy over and over again....it makes me happy! You make a good point about the benefits of a smile and some jewelry to brighten an outfit. I need to remember that!

Thank you Cindysmith and Shevia. The olive vest will be a frequent repeat item this winter. The blue jacket is a great weight for the classroom and not at all bulky. I found it on Talbot’s 1/2 price rack.

These are all really lovely, Mainelady! Muted palette, yes, but interesting and polished as usual.
I was directly drawn to no 6, the jacket looks gorgeous on you. And no 4 - so chic!

#4 is quintessential New England Cozy -- love it! And the olive/black outfit in #2 is spectacularly chic, and I love how your hair brightens it up.

Katerina and LaPed, the sweater in #4 is sooo comfortable and taupey color seemed to work with my hair. New England through and through!
Suntiger, the bracelet is a favorite. We also designed a brooch that can be worn as a slide on an Omega chain. I don’t wear that quite as often, but it is fun when I do!
