WIW: Little Black... Birks

Learnt my lesson yesterday: 105 degrees, power cut and thunderstorm with all the mugginess that means.

Sleeveless and short it is. LBD by day. With Birks. A new one for me either way, dress with birks or black dress for daytime.

This is the dress. Great for nursing mums and I like the flattering bust coverage... a no-cami V-neck with no showing off of bra straps. Thin material good for overheated preggie bods without sheerness or cling. And a good length on petites.

Neel, I actually bought it only a year after I had the baby! didn't find easy nursing dresses that looked nice-ish for both work and play till now. sp bit the bullet on this one. my apple belly has room at least.

You know its better to have that one dress that fits perfectly than have 10 different dresses that are all meh .... Like mine! Dresses are my HEWI. The only clothing item that I would pay a bit extra for would be dresses.

It's a gorgeous dress on you - the colour, the cut ( especially the v-neck), the length - all perfect. Can you duplicate this in other colours? It's a great hot weather look.

Alaesse and Gigi, it is funny... I usually get positive comments on wearing black and yet am typically a little leery of it except eveningwear, especially next to my face. Somehow, despite my dark hair, I feel like I look a bit dramatic in black... And I am too much of a wallflower typically to support that. Of late I have become a bit more comfortable in myself, and that has helped. Two years ago I would NOT have bought this dress.
