WIW Light pattern mix and retro glasses

Dear Fabbers,

Today, I am wearing a light pattern mix - a checked brown jacket (very subtle pattern) combined with a patterned silk scarf and a large gold sparkling brooch. I wear the jacket over a column of navy with wide leg navy trousers, navy lace-ups and my new gold handbag - (not visible in the pictures). I also added a pair of large retro glasses (kind of 80ies?) with gold accents.
Not so much of a style stretch here - maybe the glasses are a bit of a stretch :-). This is an office outfit, apologies for the bad pictures...

What do you guys think? Is this combination worth to be called pattern mixing? And what do you think about my glasses? I have had them for some time for watching TV at home, but have not really dared to wear them to work.

Gorgeous as always, I love the pin. This is a lovely more subtle pattern mix, but I think it counts. Those glasses look fab. And your amazing new purse is perfect.

Love it! You look a bit arty in this mix, in the best way. I like the glasses. The size would make them great sun glasses if you ever wanted. I like glasses big enough not to limit my peripheral vision.

Joy, I like wearing large glasses too, much more comfartable. And you are right, these would work as sunglasses, too. Maybe with a bit lighter shade of glass...

You look great as always, very nice subtle pattern mix. And I love your glasses. I also love big sunglasses and have a Gucci pair similar shape to yours. I asked my optician to put my prescription lenses into them, but he said he could not - that they are too big. And I wonder now if that was true or he just wanted to sell me new frames too.

Anchie, thank you. I have replaced sun sunglass with prescription glass in a number of relatively large sunglasses and it was not a problem. My optician has, however, told me that it is not possible if the glasses are “curved”. If they are straight, it should work. These glasses I am wearing today are not originally sunglasses, but I will try to take a picture of my other large glasses and post for you to see the size.

Thank you so much Katerina. You have a beautiful eye-wear collection. Maybe it is in a shape and not a size. In finds are the sunglasses that I wanted to put prescription in. Maybe I should ask for a second opinion, I really love them, but they are useless to me now.

Thank you, Anchie. Your sunglasses are beautiful, wonderful colour and shape. I think it should be possible to put in prescription glass, but I am not an expert. I have one pair of large sunglasses with tinted prescription glass, also very large and it worked. You could ask several opticians to hear what they say.
