WIW: light neutrals

After yesterday's teal explosion, I felt like wearing something a bit more muted, so I went for a palette of light (well, light for me) neutrals today. Light grey pinstripe jacket, a slightly grey-toned lavender top, faded jeans, and taupe boots. A bit more muted color palette than usual for me but it feels very calming and pleasant.

We have fairly similar skin tones, but I cannot wear lavender against my face - I will try your trick and pair with grey and see if it works.

MG, the trick with this lavender is that it's a very cool toned lavender (almost greyish) and it's not super pale. It's actually more greyish IRL than in the photo. I can't wear the more warm-toned, mauvey ones. And like you mentioned, the grey cools it down even more.

I love this on you, so flattering and fresh and pretty! That blazer fits you really well too; I love NL's aesthetic and thrifted a silk blouse by her but it's definitely made for someone with a shorter waist than me.

E, I love NL jackets precisely because she cuts them super short waisted. They're some of the only ones where the button hits in the right place on me!

I'm a big fan of muted tones. I really do think they can have a calming effect if one is feeling stressed or tired. Don't get me wrong, I love bright tones too, but I love the colours you put together here. Jacket and boots are fab! Love it

A great combo, Diana. Also a useful reminder if one wants to have some color "depth" options, either for mid-winter or to pull out for spring. I have been chiding myself to not go too overboard with deep fall and winter colors and have nothing with which to lighten up. I've just targeted an unusual pale color that I think will mix & match with wintry colors but give some relief.

Thank you, everyone! I'm really glad I bought these taupe boots last year (in a bid to add a little lightness to my winter wardrobe). I really like that they have the darker distressing at the toe, it's like built in bookending for my dark hair!
