Well I actually wore 1/2 to a women's meeting where everyone else had on jeans or capri pants, but the knit skirt with the tee felt somewhat casual. No one commented on the outfit, just on the dessert (key lime bars) that I brought.
Unfrumpted, I was nodding in agreement with your comments. The Fender tee has the same tones in it. It is supposed to be a fitted cut I think but is a bit big on me, but not boxy. The citron top has lots of movement. I can adjust the length of the skirt a little and maybe it should be worn longer with this top? The tee in 5 seemed to develop static cling. That is probably why it doesn't look substantial. It is polyester rather than silk but usually stands away from the body more.
Crutcher, I want to try a cream or white silky top. I have a cream long-sleeved buttondown silk shirt that I thought looked like it might work. I think that this skirt will look fab the way you plan to wear it to your event. Please post photos.
Meredith, I agree with 2 and 4 as the easiest to wear and most de-bombshelled. I wish that I had a longer denim jacket.
Shedev, thank you!
Alana, The light colors are more washed out in the photos than in real life. They would probably work better if I had dark hair. I thought that they looked better in person but may be kidding myself.
Suz, You would look great in this skirt. I did size up from my black lace VC tube skirt from an XS to a S, in case you decide to get one. You may want to try a couple of sizes. It does not seem to bag out at all on wearing.
Pil, thank you for your sharp eye. I got the shirt to try a version of Angie's client Karen's leopard pencil skirt look with a denim jacket. I think it will be a real go-to look for fall. The denim jacket was just too hot to wear more than a few minutes. I have an assymetrical black top that I want to try. The high-low tops seem to help balance proportions.
