WIW: Leopard jacket & vicious shoes with claws

Catching up on WIW posts from the last week or so. Hope everyone's Memorial day weekend was enjoyable! Last Thursday's outfit was high drama. I remembered how much I liked the leopard duster jacket over simple cropped jeans so I decided to do a variation of that.

You know what goes really well with leopard spots? Claws.

So I wore one of my most dramatic pairs of shoes. Jeffrey Campbell "Beast" flats, which are the antithesis of pretty ballet flats in that they are made of patent leather with a gold toe cap and some deadly gold claws surround the entire foot opening. These shoes are definitely either "love them or hate them" shoes and I always get a kick out of the polarized comments I get when I wear them.

Plus, hey, they make a fabulous weapon if need be.

Pops of red in the t-shirt, bag, sunglasses and necklace completed the casual yet fierce ensemble and I was ready to take on the world before the holiday weekend.

Those shoes *fanning* ... I have serious shoe and jacket envy! I love the weird shoes that JC comes up with. But the price point is just something I wouldn't pay! Hopefully I would own at least one JC piece some day :). Probably the more toned down loafers with studs?

@Neel, the best part about the Beast shoes is I grabbed them on a massive clearance event Karmaloop was doing at the beginning of last winter... paid a whopping $60 for them (I do so love a good bargain!) JC shoes are hit or miss for me so I usually wait to snag them on sale when I do buy them.

Ooh I like this a lot! The simplicity really appeals to me and lets the color, pattern, and details (like the claws) really shine.

Love your WIWs! Love those shoes!!! I find that I am taken with outfits/pieces that don't take themselves too seriously. Unfortunately, I don't think those shoes can be used as weapons because the claws are set to injure the wearer. Since I ride public transportation, I think I would prefer shoes that are more dangerous.

WOOOOOOOW! I love this outfit! As with all your outfits, the colour combos are just amazing. And the shoes! They're flats but they look like they elongate the leg well!!!
