Thanks for all the comments!
Angie - It's definitely hard to photograph black in a way where the details stand out. Thanks for understanding!
Suz - Yes! My third LBD is another fit and flare, in a dressier material. Even in the same style, fabric matters!
Aida - I like the term "earthy urban" a lot. Something to strive for.
Thanks, celia!
delurked - I read all the advice about how too many women default to black and it wasn't all that flattering, and I went through a phase where I tried to avoid it. Then I realized, you know what? It does look good on me, and I'm happy in it, so why fight it?
Joy and rachylou - I think your wardrobes might be larger than mine, but the allure of the LBD gets us all!
shevia - The red bag is a little brighter and sportier than I usually do these days, but it's a great size and I love that tweed detail.
Sara - Those sandals are proving to be workhorses this summer. And you're right, despite both these dresses being casual, I don't think splitting wears will be an issue.
Firecracker - The Pinball Expo was really fun! They had several hundred machines, all set to Free Play, so once you paid your admission, you could play all day without spending any quarters. I will say, though, that I was glad to be wearing such a lightweight dress. I'd brought along a flannel to pop on top if it was cold in the AC, but I definitely didn't need it. 200 pinball machines in a hotel ballroom was more than the climate control could handle. Here's a bonus pic of my son playing his favorite.
Kiwigal - I could definitely see you in these sandals. I think our tastes in casual wear can be quite similar sometimes!
Thank you, Lyn!
