Hi Fabbers!

Have been looking forward to wearing this new tunic. I was happy with how the outfit looked, and it was very comfortable (I was out and about all day) but I am questioning if it is a little too long for me. I am wearing wedge heels but I am not sure they give me enough height. The cross over and draping on the tunic was what attracted me to it, and I am quite enamored with grey at the moment:)

Do you feel this works?

Interesting piece! I like it layered into the black of the rest of the outfit.

Fab piece Deborah - I think it works - hard to be 100% sure with the angle of the photo.

Maybe try a slightly short under-piece (the one that is straight across) that is where my eye is drawn to - so going a little shorter would bring the eye to the inverted V of the grey piece. Hope that makes sense

I think this looks beautiful on you - the opening of the tunic allows enough leg to show that I don't find it too long. I do like Caro's suggestion though - definitely worth a try.

You look very tall in your photos. I think the length is ok, especially open with leg showing and your wedges.

Caro's idea of a shorter under layer is spot on to my eye.

I think the tunics are borderline okay in length, Debs. The column of colour does help "shorten" the piece by not creating a distinctive horizontal line which would emphasize the long length.

I love your little wedge booties.

What can I add? Nothing really. I agree with the rest. Really nice tunic, borderline length but with the optical illusion the length is totally corrected.

I think Caro and Angie are spot-on- the opening of the longer piece creates the potential to draw the eye to your whole leg length and therefore negate any shortening effect.

I reread Angie's comment several times thinking "how can a column of colour be shortening"? and I think it's the black column of colour she is referring to. The column created by the black tee and pants. Is that what you think?

I guess it's just my monitor, cuz I didn't realize you had an underlayer on until Caro's comment. My eye does go to the high point of the V as-is. Really fun piece!

I can't tell what part is the tunic. Is it the black part? - or the gray part? - or both????
To me, it looks borderline too long. I think that if your jeans were skinnier (slimmer cut) without as much scrunch at the ankles, that the overall outfit would look better - and probably off-set the borderline "too long" look of the tunic.
I love the wedge booties! What brand are they?

Love it. I do agree that a shorter top underneath the tunic would probably help lengthen the leg line though. Also, I know it's not your usual style, but I can't help thinking that style tunic top would look amazing layered over some kind of form-fitting pencil skirt or dress.

Marley, I agree. I think next time, I might wear thick ponte leggings for a smoother sleeker line.

Florence, we are so on the same page. I orginally put together this combo with the tunic for work (#1) but haven't worn it yet.

Looking forward to tweaking. I so appreciate your collective wisdom.

I would love to see a shot of the tunic alone, it's very interesting. Actually, I'd like to make something similar.
