I have almost finished a huge post and it got lost, so here's a second attempt, significantly shorter. These are all outfits from last week, starting Saturday 5/9 and ending Friday 5/15. They are all fairly different, but the common thread is that I was quite pleased with all of them. As always, all the comments and suggestions are welcome!
Descriptions:
#1 - I wore this to a hairdresser on Saturday to have my hair cut and styled as I was going to a wedding later that evening. The silly looking hair is due to my pin curls, still up and pinned till right before the wedding for maximum durability. I wore my blush pleather moto (UO), grey/blush mixed media tank (J Crew), patterned blush tube skirt (Trouve), bone sandals (Luxury Rebel) and silver satchel (Rebecca Minkoff).
#2/3 - the actual wedding outfit, with the hair down, and I did get the blue Tadashi dress altered for a much better waist fit. I was very glad I did it. I topped it off with a black tuxedo blazer ( Express, mostly off throughout the wedding), carried an old silver clutch (Express) and finished with black pointy wedges (Belle by Sigerson Morisson).
#4 - a super casual Sunday outfit on my way to a dance studio, wherr I changed into dance gear carried in then huge black tote. (Dancers typically wear almost exclusively black). The outfit consisted of striped black&white dolman top (Mango), black denim tuxedo shirts (H&M), super comfy black sandals (Kelsi Dagger) and large black tote (Gap).
#5 - Monday work outfit. I knew I was going to sit the whole day in front of the computer, so heels=wedges were possible, and therefore flares. I wore a pir of faded flare jeans (Gap) with new white cropped eyelet top and old white linen vest (both BR(, nude pointy wedges (Cole Haan) and off-white satchel (BR).
#6 - a boho lite work outfit on Tuesday that I have already posted yesterday but included here for completeness. Coral floral blouse (Nordstrom), slim straight Resolution jeans (Gap), coral ankle strap flats (Franco Sarto) and same BR bag.
#7/8 - debut of my silk turquoise pussy bow blouse (Rachel Zoe) for Wednesday at work. I wanted to wear it with my high waisted white flare jeans but the effect was a bit too dramatic for work so I went with white skinnies instead (AG). It was a bit cooler so I needed a topper, and I went for my sea foam leather moto (River Island). I finished the outfit with a silver studded belt (Express) and silver pointy loafers (Madison Harding), and he same off-white BR satchel.
#9/10 - on Thursday I was going to a symphonic metal concert straight after work, so I dressed accordingly in all black. I met friends for dinner at a nerby restaurant before the concert, and a random girl asked me if I was going to the Nightwish concert later (I was!) based on my outfit. I don't know whether that was good ( my outfit was right) or bad (too costumey). The outfit consisted of faded black graphic tee (Mango), faded black pinstriped skinnies (R&S), black leather moto (Kenneth Cole), studded black belt (Express) and pointy black cutout booties (Carvela).
#11/12 - on Friday I attended a career development conference for a whole day at work, and the dress code was officially business casual. This is one of my rare BC outfits that actually felt like me - ankle window pane pants (BR), black drapey top with unusual cutouts (BCBG), light grey blazer (Theory), black ankle strap pointy mini-wedges (Kelsi Dagger) and grey studded tote (Rebecca Minkoff).
