Apologies in advance as I expect this to be a bit of a post and run, but I wanted to do a quick post since I successfully took outfit photos last week!
As I mentioned in my recent capsule post, I have a mix and match capsule of neutrals that covers most of my day-to-day needs, but I like to combine pieces from that capsule with more colorful/visually interesting items. The photos from last week are pretty good examples of using the neutral bones and then adding color.
1. 10th anniversary dinner, and yet it was warm enough to be comfortable in the dress! Dress needs a slight alteration, but overall I am really pleased with the cut.
2. Dark florals to work at home and run errands (much colder today). All of the pieces except the Ted Baker sweater are part of the mix/match capsule.
3. Another work from home day. I actually wore the hat and jacket inside because something was up with our furnace (thankfully resolved). This color combo was inspired by Angie's recent post on red, black, and cream. Pants and shoes are part of the mix/match capsule.
4. Wore this for some weekend activities out of the house. Channeling the 90s with my vintage brooch (1990s and 1890s...cue music from Portlandia). Pants, boot and belt are part of the mix/match capsule.
5. Lounging around the house and volunteering in my colorful flannel. The jeans are the only mix/match capsule item in this outfit.
6. Back to working from home. The pants are too short to wear full length, so I always cuff them. This is a pretty basic outfit, but I feel happier pairing the black sweater with bright pants over jeans.
My takeaway from these photos is that I much prefer the outfits with color and I prefer the color near my face.
Thanks for looking. I am always open to suggestions for improvement.
