Looks like I get to stow my luggage away for the remainder of this year. Here's what I wore this week on my final business trip of the year, plus a bonus pic #5 outfit worn this weekend.
You'll note that it's a very similar formula to the last trip. It's a strategy that is working, but I do admit I'm getting a little bored and would welcome suggestions on how to spice things up -- without overpacking. I've been mulling over some ideas myself, but I'd like to hear your suggestions!
Pic 1 - WiW to fly there and be presentable for drinks with colleagues when I arrived. Vince striped top, BR scarf, Theory pants, Clare V clutch & (not shown - the Vince scuba jacket worn over). Yes, this top is similar to the VC top I wore on my last trip. Except it's more fluid, which I like - hides my belly, which always seems to expand on airplanes.
Pic 2 - LOFT ponte knit skinnies (yes I have two pairs, different brands but I don't think anyone can tell the difference!). LOFT peasant blouse. Vince scuba jacket & (not shown, the same cobalt scarf), the same clutch & booties again. Note the hair. It was doing this flippy thing. Somehow, whenever I travel, I get at least one day when my hair wants to flip out. I suppose it is different water in the hotel, different shampoo, higher humidity. I can't get it to do that here at home.
Pic 4 - better pic of the blouse. I really love this blouse!!! Love the color, love the fit.
Pic 3 - I forgot to take a pic on day 2, so you have to imagine. I basically wore the same outfit, but with this LOFT blouse instead. No scarf that day. Instead of the scuba jacket, I wore my long cascading Theory cardigan which you can see in my previous WiW.
What I packed but did not wear: just four items!
1) loafers - if it had been warmer, I planned to wear these sock less. But it turned out to be chilly, so I stuck with the booties + warm socks instead.
2) black crew neck cardigan - it's always packed in my luggage, just in case.
3) a scarf. I couldn't figure out what scarf to wear with blouse in pic #3, so I brought two along.
4) AG skinny jeans. I assessed the situation. Nobody else was in jeans for this meeting, so they went unworn.
Pic 5 - the bonus pic - outfit worn over the weekend. This green knit cardigan is also LOFT. It's a gorgeous shade of emerald, very comfy, and not too heavy (i.e., perfect for milder winter climes). But here I have it paired with vintage Jcrew white cotton tee, which I would not wear for work. And flat loafers.
