Thanks, guys! About the same fabric in two different brands--I remember when Gap came out with the Gapfit line circa 2010/2011, there were a lot of rumors (which I even heard from a store manager) that the Gap things were being made at that time in the same factories as Lululemon, and of course, being priced 40% cheaper. I totally believed it after seeing things in the two stores that were obviously the exact same fabric. I'm assuming the same thing's happening here with the Aritzia skirt and Gap top. And, yeah, I paid way more for the skirt than the tank
This should probably be it's own post, but Aritzia's new to Boston and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Some of the clothes in the window are so purposely ugly/dowdy that I had to assume they were directional/normcore (and thus not for middle aged people like me) so I didn't venture in for a long time even though I walk past it frequently. Then the night I bought the skirt, the SA was fawning over the tiny, pretty, young Asian woman 4 feet from me while never once giving me a glance, never mind asking me if I needed help. When I took the skirt to the register, the young woman there asked pointedly if I wanted to try it on and when I said no (because I was on my way to an appointment and I can visualize whether a garment as simple as a tube skirt will or will not fit over my hips), double checked to make sure it wasn't final sale. Her whole attitude was "your gigantic a** isn't going to fit in this." It all left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps they feel like their store is not for middle aged people like me. Or perhaps I was just there on a night when the rude people were working.
