suntiger, I confess I have studied what 1950s models did with their feet. My instinct is to "pop" one foot next to the other like a dancer, but in that decade they did more of a 4th or 5th position! It's not natural - the front leg has to be turned out - but is pretty distinctive, and effective with pointy toe pumps.
Thank you, slim cat! That hairdo actually incorporates a custom made thick braid headband. I love feeling a little like Heidi, plus the coronet effect.
Jaime, I lucked out so much with those Poshmark coats! I think "cropped bomber jacket" found the olive one (it's Steve Madden) but I do not remember how I stumbled on the other. I haven't even heard of the brand. "Bromley Collection"?
DonnaF, that is very encouraging. Thank you. Most of the time I feel great, but sometimes that little voice asks if I'm making myself ridiculous by being so different. Feedback like yours helps immensely.
CarolS, we all want what we don't have, right? The hips that shelf for these skirts so nicely make it super hard to fit puffers, LOL! My feet are super picky, too. I'm mystified that these saddle shoes are so comfortable, since the padding is minimal and they're a little wide.
Thank you, Kate. I feel sometimes like wearing a costume, but they are my clothes and they do fit well!
Sal, it's hard for me not to smile in a picture! I've been growing out my hair and it's about where I want to stop. Unfortunately I had a major shed last year so I'll be re-growing the thickness for 3-4 more years, ugh. I do wear tall boots with these, if I'm going out and it's cold or wet. Mid calf brown or black Ecco "Rise" boots are my usual, since the sole is more like an athletic shoe. Sometimes I feel like a Cossack! When going to church I tend to wear pumps or heeled boots, depending on the outfit and again the weather. This winter has been drier (La NiƱa year) so I haven't reached for boots as much.
Bijou, you're so kind! Some days I feel my hair fights and sometimes it plays super nice, LOL. I'm glad you see variety! Sometimes I feel that the silhouette is limiting, but I am also trying to do something new. Like the flannel dress. (Working on a second one now - the plaid matching is eating my lunch and making my brain explode.)
I am definitely getting known by the neighborhood. I've had some nice conversations. During the summer one sweet little boy (3 or 4) made his babysitter stop and wait for me to come by so he could say hi. I see them regularly still.
