WIW: Jacket challenge + drop-cr-tch: cciele copycat PICTURE ADDED!

I am wearing almost an exact copy of cciele's amazing harem pants outfit.

Zara camo harem pants, black tank, black velvet sharp-shouldered blazer (from last year), and the DV booties. And the wolverine necklace. I feel fierce, and I needed to be to deal with DS's class today.

I know the forum has said these sharp shoulders are not out of date. Because I live where i do, I'm not sure anyone would know or care, but I'd like to make sure. this velvet jacket will be nice for the holidays, assuming it still works.

Will post a pic later when I find the camera - our house is in remodeling shambles....

OK, this is insane. When I read about the items, my nose was wrinkling but when I saw the picture, my reaction was I WANT THIS OUTFIT---NOW! BADLY!

I love that jacket! And Angie did say a sharp shoulder is still okay.

I love the pants, too. Although (in my mildly poisoned eye way) I do get a slight sensation of seasonal confusion from the lightweight pants with a velvet jacket. This is my hangup, not your problem. I do love the slight (and very different) sheen of both and the richness of velvet with the smoothness of the silk.

Hey Suz, I'm wearing leggings underneath! These are not silk, but I see your issue - I wish I could find similar pants in a heavier fabric.

Okay, I am sorry to be bumping up my own thread, but in light of the recent poison eye thread and the thread about wanting constructive criticism, is this outfit not passing everyone's filter? I'd love to hear if those with a poison eye for dropped crotch looks are finding this distasteful, because it's certainly something I'm curious about! TIA - not trying to hog forum space, really!

OK, here's the straight scoop:
I hated the ones in Angie's picture, but I LOVE these.
These look nothing like a full diaper- they look very on-trend but not weird.
A big thumbs up from me- and I'm not just being a "cheerleader".

ETA: The velvet jacket is great with them, but I'd rather see it worn open, I think.

From your picture, I can't even tell there's a dropped crotch. When it's not bulging forward (like a visible case of penis envy), I don't think it bothers me.

I was a little concerned about sharp shoulders, but this is so subtle it's not setting off my yuck reflex.

So, did you scare the kids? ;o)

I am one of the ones who confessed a poison eye for drop crotches. But, Una, these pants have drape and, to put it bluntly, they don't make you look like you have man parts. The Celine ones from Angie's photo are just the opposite. The fact that the Celine ones are white only seems to emphasize the bulky shape of the dropped crotch.

But looks like this *almost* would make me consider trying a pair of pants like this, if I had a body shape that was more amenable to the style. I'd look like the broad side of a military convoy if I wore them, but they are fab on you!
