I haven't been much of a participant over the past few months, mostly because my closet has been humming happily along. Not all the decisions I made when putting together my fall/winter wardrobe were good ones, but enough of them were good enough that I felt ready for almost any occasion. I'm sure there will be a reckoning again when spring hits, and I need to start the process again for warmer weather.

In the meantime, I've been taking WIW pics off and on. Here are a few:

1. Gray sweater dress with my warm rust Anthropologie duster. This duster sweater has been a workhorse for me this season. It's an insanely warm wool blend that serves as a coat on warmer winter days, and a cozy indoor layer on colder days. In this case, it rescued the sweater dress, which, on its own, makes me feel like Lumpy Space Princess.

2. Snow day wear. Striped tee from J.Crew Factory, Betabrand "dress pants yoga pants," and North Face boots. I'm not happy with the way the JCF striped tees have held up, but they'll survive the season.

3. Library volunteer day. Out of Print tee, Boden cardigan, Talbots skirt. I wouldn't ordinarily wear snow boots with this, but we got 15" of snow the day before! Those book paper roses in my hands are the reason I haven't been around much recently. I introduced them in January and they gave my shop an unexpected Valentine's Day rush.

4. I changed clothes about a million times today which makes it funny that I ended up in this mostly-black ensemble. I needed something that would work for volunteering, plus various parental meetings and presentations at the school this evening, and would still let me feel like maybe I'm not old enough to be the mom of a high schooler. Red lipstick to the rescue!

Also: hi everyone! I've missed you!
