WIW It's a Wrap

Wearing my new “uniform” today! Posting WiWs definately keeps me accountable. After a sick baby last night, and knowing I would try to post this, I put on the uniform rather than my old standbys.

Wrap top – Ralph Lauren
Cami – Talbots
Trousers – Chaus
Oxfords – Rockport Walkability (they are very comfy!)
Necklace – gift from Hubs

I started out with a turquoise cami on, but when DH asked me if I was sure it matched, I changed! As always, any ways to improve welcome. Do the pants work okay both with the top and on me in general?

Looks great! And I think turquoise would go well with the colour of the top, but then again I'm a colour addict!

Poor sick baby - hope your household is on the mend.

Like Kirti and Ceit have mentioned, I think the turquoise cami would have popped beautifully against the burgundy of your sweater, but this is fine as well. Like the grey trousers on you - fit is great. I do wonder if they are maybe a smidge too short though?

Maybe on the pants it is the lighting. With my shoes, they are about a half inch above the floor.

I need to go re-read Angie's post on pant lengths! I do think I suffer from buying too short of pants as I always worry about them dragging on the floor.

If you look this fresh and smiley after attending to a sick baby all night - you are truly remarkable!

That pullover would look wonderful with the potentially new burgundy skirt. Add a scarf and boots, and you are set.

Hard not to smile as she is using the funriture to "walk" over to me to get picked up!

This may be a dumb question, but can you mix shades of burdgundy or any other color? (I think the answer is yes, based on what was said above, but I had always thought the shades had to match if worn in the same outfit.)

Heh you should have seen me yesterday - I wore bugundy skinnies, burgundy boots, and my tipped burgundy peacoat -- I met a friend for lunch, and he said "Wow, you look like a superhero or something!"

Thistle, something easy to do when you're unsure of mixing colours is to look at paint chips that have the graduated colours from dark to light. You can really see how the different shades all complement each other. Or, just check out the colour wheel online to see how colours play well both across the wheel or adjacent to each other. One of our posters, Aida I think it was, did a whole series of outfits based on the colour wheel. They were really interesting. I haven't seen her post lately but maybe she will chime in.
