Yesterday I wore this Tunic dress for the first time. Loved Sveta's tunic dress looks from her post last week.
None of my patterned scarfs worked with it for me, so I wore this Scarf/Vest tucked into the belt.
Any suggestions for future styling? I am thinking about a plain burgundy scarf (but don't have one yet.) I do have a burgundy handbag and belt though.
I am also considering getting a white roll-neck to wear underneath?

Suggestions/comments please!

Lyn I love the black and grey and what color are the boots, I can't tell?

You could potentially pop a cropped jacket over the tunic and add a scarf.
A pop of colour would be nice:) Burgundy is nice but I would love to see a red or maybe an emerald greet, both of which I think would look great against your hair.

Oh Thanks Deborah, the boots are grey as are the tights in the pic.
I have a black short trench jacket but nothing cropped at the moment.
I will certainly consider red and maybe a blue/green for some colour. ( My eyes are blue.)

I appreciate your quick feedback. Hope your office is back to normal soon- it's quite disconcerting to find your space invaded in that way isn't it?

This looks really nice Lyn, The grey is pretty on you and I like the way you belted your scarf/vest. Do you ever wear leggings? Some people wear their tunic dresses over leggings or jeggings, but I don't have any so I can't advise.

I spy a music stand! What is your instrument?

Lyn, I am honored to inspire you. This is a lovely tunic and grey color is very versatile. I find that it is much easier to wear grey tunics than black: from neutral to bright colors grey works with most of them.
Have you tried to wear it unbelted? It looks like it has some volume to it and bags a bit with the belt. I don't belt mine but then I happily follow in Angie's footsteps and surrender the waist with above the knee hemlines.
Is it sleeveless? Turtleneck will be lovely with it and I would prefer black to cream: I tried to use my cream t-neck several times with my tunics but black always looked more sophisticated to my eye. Also you may try button-down shirts if you wear them.
Why do you think your patterned scarves do not work? Solid grey tunic is a wonderful canvas for color and prints. Maybe you can try your scarves out and post pictures - they may look much better with this tunic than you think.

Thanks Claire, I am thinking about leggings but so far have opted for skinny black jeans or tights with dresses.
My 13 Y.O. plays flute and piano, 15 Y.O. guitar, I play piano and sing and my 52 Y.O. plays the drums!
Thanks for the feedback Sveta. The tunic is sleeveless and has a fine black/white herring-bone pattern (?) and I am very fussy about wearing busy scarfs with anything that isn't fairly plain. I will definitely try the turtleneck and was thinking about the lighter colour in view of bringing out the white in the dress.

Oh, I see, it is a subtle pattern then. You know, it may be a perfect way for you to dip your toes into trendy pattern mix with this tunic. I find that these subtle patterns often read like solids and pair extremely well with other patterns. If you want to venture into it (just for fun, you know) it is easier to combine different geometric patterns where colors are the same or at least one color is the same. You don't have to wear it out but play at home and take pictures and if you feel like sharing them it would be great!:-)
