WIW-Inspired by Suz & a lonely orphan gets some attention

1)Not fab like Suz's Tip Taupe outfit but I had white Perfect Trousers from Gap(never did find skinny white jeans long enough this summer, dang) tan (not taupe) top, animal print scarf and booties. Something isn't quite right with these proportions. Is the top too short?

2) White ankle jeans, gray T, mustard color scarf and ballet flats and my lonely jean jacket gets worn for the first time this summer.

3) is this better without the scarf?

4) or this military jacket? I'm late and out the door with this, meeting my daughter for happy hour!

Ooh! I am so honoured to be your inspiration! You look wonderful! It is amazing how well the white pants play at this time of the year, isn't it? I've been boggled by it. I can't wear them all summer (way too hot for me) but wow, for September (and probably May) they will be go-to pants.

I really like all of these. I think perhaps you are right about the sweater being just a touch too short if you were going for a look like mine; my sweatshirt also narrows at the bottom a bit and has narrow sleeves. But this is a terrific look of its own! Different, but also good.

I know, Suz. I haven't worn my long white pants and jeans until 2 weeks ago. I keep trying to improve this outfit, scratching my head?!?!?

Tough - these all look pretty great to me. I do like #2, and #3 the best - but it is close.

All of these look great, Carole. I love 2 and 3 the best. I think the scarf in 1 looks kind of heavy with the white bottoms. You rock white bottoms, btw!

I really like the taupe + white combo a lot. I think I like it best in 1 and 4, and 2 is very fab.

Love #2. Is it that the top & your hair in #1 are about the same proportion visually as the white pants & are therefore cutting you in half? Have you tried a low-slung belt to break it up?

Hmmm- there IS a difference between the long pant and the shorter ones.
I think it is the thinner material of the pant that makes them more body-con and less flattering with the shorter top?
They are lovely with the longer jacket in #4.

I like all of these. But maybe 1 would be better with a lighter bag? I am not sure there's enough black in the scarf to ground the bag.

Thanks for your input, ladies. You make some great observations and suggestions. Maybe the fact that the pants are flared is affecting the outcome. I think the lighting isn't helping things either, it was late in the day and rather dark in my room.

I like #2 and 4 the best myself. I am thinking that the scarf in #1 is perhaps just a bit too much for the outfit, especially a little too much volume. I actually prefer this in #3 without the scarf. I know, I know, heresy. And Angie loves it, so this obviously is not an absolute kind of thing.

Really, though, you look good in all of them. Hard to go wrong. You almost make me wish we were at the beginning of next summer, so I could be hunting my white pants and jeans.
